Then why not fight at 140? If he weighed in at 143! :huh Yes it does matter when people like you try to discredit Mayweather's win over Hatton but in the same breath try to sell Pacquiao vs Bradley. You just lose all credibility.....:hi:
Cotto? Margarito? Did Pacq not beat them one-sided despite giving up weight? His talent overpowered whatever the scale said his weight was in those fights. For ex, Mayweather was 149 against Oscar but that was still a legit 154 win and he was a legit 154 fighter. If Pacqcan't make weight then he needs to get back down. He's been a proven WW for years with beating Cotto, DLH, and even Clottey. Tired of the cw's bs him and his team use to drain fighters.
At least you admitted that! But you do realise that almost all of Pac's opponents have been bigger than him with the exception of JMM, Cotto included?
DLH wasn't drained? Again he only needed a catchweight there. He didn't even need them against Morales who looked anorexic. He's abusing this cw thing him and his team. Props for fighting Bradley but he brings him up knowing he can't bang which he loses credit for as well as Bradley not doing much at 147, 144 whatever. And he's whooped them(bar Marquez) despite that disadvantage therefore making him a legit WW despite what scales say.
Bigger and weighing more are two different things. Cotto is bigger than Mayweather who is bigger than Pacquiao. Do you understand now?
Alot of people don't understand this... Take the Margarito situation, 150lbs didn't drain him; but the catchweight forced him to train for the weigh in, rather than for Pacquaio. That's a factor not many people consider with catch weights.
Im tired of trying to explain it to them, its 6am here in the UK. I'll leave it to you cos it seems like I have been talking to a brick wall all night LOL!
Eyes getting heavy myself lol. If they don't get it know they never will. Besides me you and sjs I'll wrap it up: With catchweights you have to train for not only your opponent but train extra just to burn off those pounds. Throws you off. Despite not necessarily fighting at a weight, you still can be a legit fighter there if you beat legit opposition of that weight and get a belt there. For ex, a fighter fighting at 175 but weighing 173 though beating a legit guy there. That fighter is a legit 175 lb'er regardless. Even if Fighter A is 5 inches shorter than Fighter B and weigh about the same, Fighter B is still bigger. Giving up height and can be a disadvantage come fight night with weight possibly.
be my guest and criticise pac as i have done on floyd but... fact remains, hatton's and bradley's best weight are at 140 and both have/will fight with an undefeated record against the p4p#1 at 147. (somebody should make a thread comparing hatton and bradley) ....and though bradley fights at a lower weight level, he outweighed pac for his last fight night weight.
pac is still smaller than cotto and floyd. he was a 130 pounder before that. they have been fighting at 147 for a while, son
