I am Caucasian, (not that it matters) and I live in the USA.

With nothing else to consider between them I would want Manny to beat Floyd. However, in terms of economics here in the States, wouldn't a Mayweather victory be more beneficial?

Pacquaio fought 2 of his last 3 fight in China to avoid higher taxes in the States. I am not counting his title defenses held in his native Philippines.

Manny helps a lot of his countrymen, and while that is very noble, the big money he get's to earn here in the USA largely goes back with him.

Mayweather, conversely, has only fought in the USA. He spends a lot, so he stimulates the economy and makes a lot of money for other people too.

More money which stays where it is generated and allowed to circulate here is always a good thing. So, is it fair to use that as a consideration on who you want to see win?

Well I am African American and I am voting for Floyd. Maybe his winning does boost the American economy but that's not why I am rooting for him. With the recent killings of black men in this country by police, a win would be great for the morale of a lot of black people, especially black males.
