I dont think people even read the original comment. Elerbe said that Floyd was looking for the biggest fight possible in May, and preferably Pacquiao. BUT it doesnt have to be Manny if the two sides dont agree to fight. If the two sides dont come together, Floyd will then fight the next biggest target. Technically, Floyd didnt lie because he DOES NOT have an official fight with Manny Pacquiao. He really ISNT fighting Manny until a contract or some agreement happens.

You have to take that with a grain of salt. I remember the faceoff between May and Ortiz where Floyd said 'what did he say? I was looking over there'. We know he heard what he said. It's gamesmanship. You guys make a big deal out of nothing. This is what people are supposed to be accustomed to already. That's what he does to get under people's skin. Unlike Bob Arum, who put more than a foot in his mouth, he put his whole damn leg in his mouth. If a guy can be easily defeated inside of 4 rounds and he's always been the main priority, then why the negative response to an open invitation to fight? If Floyd was on a long vacation, Manny Pacquiao would most likely end up fighting on May 5 at the MGM Grand anyway. I don't understand what the big fuss is about.

Arum said he has no problem with the USADA. Manny can train in Baguiao City. The USADA is more than willing to travel abroad to collect samples. I can guarantee that there will be no excuses coming from the Mayweather camp. Manny wants more than 50%? Don't be silly now. That's a way to duck. Floyd's gate at the MGM Grand with Shane Mosley did 11.1 million, while Manny's did 8.8 million. Judging from the numbers, not the public adoration, Manny falls slighly short of matching or trumping Mayweather's numbers. I propose 52/48 Mayweather's way. That's way reasonable. Anything that comes from the Pacquiao camp that's negative, is an excuse and it clearly shows who really doesn't want the fight. I'm certain that Floyd would do anything in his power, short of a slave contract, to make it happen. The reluctance comes from the Pacquiao side of the fence. They'd rather cruise their way along instead of making good on all of that **** they were talking. Floyd's so scared of Manny but he's calling for him. Manny's promoter seems to be doing everything in his power to prevent that from ever happening.

Instead of lying to the people, Arum should just tell the truth for once in his life. He doesn't want to make the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight happen under any circumstances. He should say so instead of coming up with excuse after excuse.

  6. I'm beginning to believe that Pacquiao and Mayweather both, are the two worst things in boxing.

Right, so after endless threads, comments and celebrations over the past day or two about how serious Floyd is about making the Pacquiao fight and that the ball is now in Pacquiao's court......we should ignore it all and treat it with a grain of salt.

I'll say it again, let's just wait for Pac to be done with JMM, and let a month or so of dialogue unravel afterwards, before pointing fingers and jumping to conclusions.

How can he say he is fighting pac when bob arum made it clear may 5 aint happening even before looking to negotiate. What? Is floyd supposed to say he is fighting pac? And the whole article is corny and does not even sound right.

Floyd technically doesnt have a fight with Manny that's a fact, there's no contract. That doesnt mean he doesnt want to fight Manny. How'd you jump to that conclusion? There's a difference between not wanting a fight altogether, and wanting a fight yet not having the official contract or agreement to actually guarentee that fight. When did he say, "Im so scared of Manny, I wont fight him." All he said was that he doesnt have a guarenteed fight with Manny which is true.

Also, you ignore the fact that when Floyd said "I didnt know I was fighting him" that Floyd then DID NOT follow up by naming another alternative opponent. It'd be different if he said some chicken **** like, "I didnt know I was fighting Manny, INSTEAD Im fighting Khan, Martinez, Bradley [insert male]." He didnt name an alternative fighter, meaning that the opening is still there for Manny. You act like the fight cant still be made. All Floyd did was book a venue and place, until Floyd announces an official opponent besides Manny Pacquiao you cant slam the book closed.
