"Floyd and me want to see if we can get the fight done," said Schaefer, who, although he doesn't have a promotional contract with Mayweather, has represented him in his past three fights and was asked to represent him in these talks. "The fact that I am flying to Las Vegas to meet with Bob shows you how serious our side is about making the fight. ..Bob and I will approach this without egos and try to get it done under fair terms. Floyd gave me his marching orders and I will see today how it goes and report back." "I can confirm I am meeting with Richard, but I'm not going to talk about the specifics," Arum told ESPN.com. "It's a meeting where we will try to make the fight. Whether it can be made or not in this meeting, I don't know. We'll see what we will see." Schaefer said he hopes he and Arum can make the fight quickly, rather than dragging the talks out for weeks. "As part of the negotiations both Bob and I had to agree to keep all discussions confidential," Schaefer said. "No further comments will be made until such time that we either have a deal or the negotiations fall apart." http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=4682772
It's all bull**** and for show. Calling out fighters then putting your demands too high so they pull out. The only way you will ever know if a fighter wants to fight another fighter is when they are in the ring.
Every fight starts with negotiations dont they? How do you know these two guys dont want to make the most money they will ever make in 1 fight their entire career?
He doesn't want the fight too happen because if it does he can't bash PBF anymore about ducking Pac. A lot of PBF haters don't want thsi fight to happen.
And the news that Manny is afraid of Floyd. Both guys aren't afraid of one anther. I think there is a common respect between both fighters and know that they both have just as good a chance to win as the other.....well....Floyd probably feels PAC doesn't have a chance with his ego.
I hope Mayweather doesn't purposely ask for too much. In my opinion, fighters should be guranteed a small percentage and the winner takes the rest - that way it should actually be a fight worth watching.
Why do people always say that about PBF? PBF has never been a hard person to negotiate with he doesn't have a history of it. I can see it now, PBF will get the blame if the fight doesn't come off too many people have your mentality.
You know......I honestly feel PAC knows Floyd is going to be his most difficult fight and that he has a real shot at loosing. Maybe not from a physical standpoint but definitly from a techincal and tatical one. Floyd adapts...with or without advice from his corner. PAC on the other hand is as good as he is from his preparation and advice given to him by roach. Floyd.....never thinks his opponent can beat him. Now I feel both PAC and Floyd know that a "W" is possible.....but feel Floyd doesn't feel PAC presents a true challenge to his undefeated record.
