Forget the 50/50 split. Hbo should just give floyd and pac 25 mil each and tell them to fight. This fight is going to generate a ridiculous amount of money anyways so just give the fighters what they ask for.
Size also don't mean anything unless you match size with skill. Cotto doesn't have the skill to defeat PBF and isn't much bigger then PBF that he could make up for the skill difference with his size. Margarito is so unskilled as a fighter that PBF would turn his size to a disadvantage as he is to slow and plotting to catch him. Mosley as well lacks the skill at this point to defeat PBF though he would do a better job then Cotto would. Mosley, Cotto, Margo have all been severely overrated on this board. And there isn't a big difference in fighting those 3 then fighting Judah,Baldo and DLH at 154.
The main issue for negotiation is not money but at what weight this fight will go down at. Floyd will be looking for at least 55% if he's going to fight Pacman at 145 or below. And there will be no bull**** 'fines' for coming in above 145. If Pacman cedes to a 147 fight then he's going to want at least 55%
The only problem is Cotto, Mosely and Margarito are not top WW. Margarito and Cotto are bums. Mosely had his chance to fight Money and he turned it down. Do I need to post of the video of Mosely ducking PBF. These folks are scared. The fight of the new century is here and they don't want it. They don't want to see the two best P4P fighters fight each other.
I would day 55-45 to the winner if it's a decison and 60-40 to the winner if it's a kO/TKO Doctor's stoppage or any other crap, 50/50
I agree with everything you said and I'm not a fanboy towards either fighter or any fighter for that matter, I'm a fan of boxing. Floyd fans want Pac because they know just like any boxing fan with common sense knows it's a mismatch of styles. Floyd should fight Shane Mosley.... Period!
Rooney is full of ****. He's putting up a fake facade that floyd wants this fight. they will try to weasel out of it somehow. they are just pretending to want it. nice try rooney,
I will anxiously await the outcome of this negotiation. Both camps will be demanding ridiculous claims at the start. One thing for sure, if this fight doesn't get signed, there'll be a huge uproar coming from all the boxing fans in the world.
