Let's not forget that Cotto fought them both, too. Hell, Cotto even did a catch weight to make the Pac fight happen when he was the champion.

There's a reason JMM and Cotto will get universal standing ovations and hearty applause when they are introduced in the crowd while Mayweather will always get a mixed chorus.

If you're juicing, you don't need a 4 month long camp to get into great shape. ;)

Question. Why are you such a butthurt whining ***? :think

Good post. This fight not happening will also leave huge gaps in both mayweather and pacquiao's legacies.

I think when history looks back on this, it will clear that Pacquiao was to blame. Mayweather's drug testing was reasonable, and look how many cheats have been exposed since he started the initiative for more testing.

There is a key term here that most people miss: Good Faith.

Two parties who are genuinely interested in completing a transaction are expected to negotiate in good faith. Both are supposed to make a concerted, honest effort to get the deal done.

Does anybody think for a second that Mayweather and Arum are even capable of acting in good faith with each other?

Yes, so reasonable that it was only asked when Manny became a threat to him. I wonder if Floyd would of asked for better test if Manny would of never been in the picture? Afterall he never asked for them before Manny.

Good post, OP. :good Basically both sides are to blame for this mega fight not happening in 09 when it mattered the most.

one thing Marquez had that Floyd and Manny didn't: DESPERATION

he'd agree to each and every one of their terms...

when you're the "A-side" and dealing with another A-side fighter, it's gonna be difficult to negotiate.

Well, gotta admit, this miss will haunt them on their evaluation as an ATG.

They fought in the same weight class, fought nearly the same names, guaranteed purse to secure funds up to their grandkids, and still never managed to fight.

Let's be clear with the point established by the others which is completely valid.

Floyd insisted in drug testing, why at that time nobody knows but we can speculate. It's either they know the other camp would balk or they were right. But if they were right, why would they settle the defamation case?

Then Pacquiao could've just handled the situation better. He could've said the right words but he let others talk for him, which made it worse and made it look bad for him.

Let me predict some responses from the esb tards.

    ko6.Deal with it.

Why is Marquez ducking a pbf rematch?

Will Marquez find his balls and rematch pbf?

Both sides are to blame, but I think if Bob Arum wasn't involved this fight would have happened back 2009. Guaranteed. Look people. We all know Manny is a muppet. If Bob Arum wanted too, he could have set Manny down and convinced him to accept the blood testing with the 14 day cutoff and we all know Manny would have caved. But instead only thing he convinced Manny to do was to file a lawsuit.

    Really?

    A lawsuit?

Jeopardizing what could have been the biggest PPV fight in history.

    Yeah, that's right!

A promoter giving advice that will prevent his biggest promotion ever.

    A promoter?

That's like a defense lawyer walking into his court case and when the judge says, "call your first witness" the lawyer instead says, "no need your honor, the defense rest."

It boggles the mind. GB damn sure wanted it. And IMO, MP and PBF did too. But I still can't wrap my head around The Bobfather. He just makes no sense to me. When he dies and rots in Hell only then can boxing start taking steps in returning to its former glory. Come on Lucifer! Tighten that choke chain around Arum's neck and bring him on home.

As someone else pointed out, if JMM is getting so much praise why didn't he try to clear out the 140 division? Don't act like he just did it for the legacy; money was more of an issue.

It's not really about Juan I could well have left him out of the title - the point was the disgraceful actions of the two biggest starts in the sport
