I thought Mayweather and the pro debut boxer was supposed to be bigger? but thank god for boxing's sake MayPac is still at the top of the tree http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ight-to-be-44m-ppv-buys-fails-to-break-record
Wow, did it come close. I remember there was one guy on here who insisted it would sell less than 500k or something. Lot of folks insisted the 1-2mil range. PPV is for the casuals. Never underestimate that.
The idea alone that it came close is worrying though, as a bullshirt WWE style event is almost as big as the biggest boxing match in recent years. Maybe boxers need to start hitting eachother with chairs when the referee isn't looking, or stamp their foot on the ground when they trow a punch. That will make the US audience hot for boxing again.
Let's not remember this as some sort of Successful PPV in Boxing Fans.It was a Boring and disgusting fight, timed perfectly to take the most money and give little in return.I still belive if they had met in 2009/2010 it would have been a Classic.
I agree and so do 99% of boxing fans, it'll always be frustrating that it didn't happen sooner. Still beats the 'TBE' vs Pro debut opponent though
I told you Mayweather vs pro debut opponent was a big number 2 http://www.news18.com/news/sports/mayweather-mcgregor-fight-second-richest-ever-1605801.html
