This is a pieced together time line from the comeback fight for Mayweather until now. Not dated, but in order. B1.) Richard Schaffer allegedly tells reporter that Pacquiao is on PEDs. Mayweather Sr. has interview with Yahoo! Sports alluding to a similar feeling. 1.) Mayweather-Marquez fight happens 2.) Pacquiao-Cotto fight happens 3.) Bob Arum states that he doesn't want to see them fight but will not stand in the way of this happening. 4.) Negotiations begin between Golden Boy Promotions/Mayweather Promotions and Top Rank. 5.) Initial contract agreed to by Floyd Mayweather(w/ random drug testing in it) 6.) Intial contract agreed to by Pacquiao with changes(most likely the fine for weight and gloves). Mayweather agrees with changes. 7.) Something happens where Pacquiao realizes what is in the contract and rejects the contract 8.) Negoitions begin to break down 9.) Bob Arum gives deadline 10.) Bob Arum declares fight dead/Announces plans to try to get a fight with Paulie Malignaggi or Yuri Foreman 11.) The lawsuit threat is filled/here we are now So this is the order of what has happened regarding this fight to now, I added the B1.) because it occured before Mayweather-Pacquiao was a real possibilty.
These are all negotiations leading to the end result. A signed contract. Manny Pacquiao said he doesn't want blood drawn within a day before the fight because he feels it makes him weaker. There is a way to negotiate this that does not jeopardize the integrity of drug testing. They both need to find out what it is and sign the damn contract.
Why is everyone trying to make this out like both parties are at fault? No. This is all on Manny's shoulders. If you were clean there would be no problem with any testing. None. Nada. Manny is the one sinking this fight not Mayweather. Call it like it is.
