Today is the 7 year anniversary of the biggest fight of this generation: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao. Where were you when this fight happened? Who did you think was going to win the fight? Are you disappointed with how the fight turned out?
I was at a friends house, there was a group of about 20 people. 18 of those people were not hardcore boxing fans, that goes to show you the magnitude of the fight. How could you not be dissapointed? I was about 60% sure that Mayweather would win but wanted Manny to win. I just disappointed in the lack of drama. Floyd totally shutdown anything Manny had planned.
why remind us of that awful very forgettable boring ass fight. embarrassed that I stayed up for yet another Floyd borefest
Watched with a bunch of buddies, mostly Mayweather fans. I was not at all surprised and a lot of us on here predicted it would go exactly the way it did. Pac was a clear underdog for good reason. He would have been in 2009, too, but it would have been a much more entertaining fight. They were both declined in 2015.
7 years ago to the day & 7 years too late! There was only one fight that mattered in 2015 and that was Tyson Fury Vs Wladimir Klitscko.
Yeah and at that point Pac shifted his style to be a counter puncher rather than the boxer-puncher that he was in 2008-2012, I'm assuming due to that JMM 4 KO. I still think he would have lost, but there probably would have been more action/drama if we got the fight earlier than what we got in 2015.
Can’t believe it has been 7 years already….tine truly does fly. I saw the fight at a sports bar with my dad, his friend, and a buddy of mine. I 100% thought that Mayweather was going to win by decision, and yes, I was extremely disappointed with how the fight turned out. So boring!
Had guys over for a poker game plus the fight. And the fight turned out exactly as I had predicted: Mayweather ran around with Pac chasing him around all night, unable to land any significant punches.
Remember being so excited for this but oh boy it was terrible.Manny never posed a threat and Floyd just did enough to win comfortably
Boxing still hasn’t recovered from this fight. It was great for both fighters purses but did immense damage to the sport. This is primarily why I never buy that youtubers fighting and everything else that ‘brings eyes to the sport’ is ‘good for the sport’
