I know technically this belongs in the Training forum, but it seems like there are never any viewers there.. so.. i've seen Floyd do his speed/defense drill with Roger on the pads , and I just watched a video of these English Cats doing it: [YT]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rGy_YUir5Ww&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rGy_YUir5Ww&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/YT] as well as another dude doing it with Roger: [YT]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dhfYeiCFs7I&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dhfYeiCFs7I&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/YT] Any boxers here do this drill?? If so can you break it down to bite sized pieces to learn?
A guy who really worked the pads very well is Felix Trindidad, I guess that his father taught him. Trinidad worked the pads with great power and technically taught correct shots. The guys in your video only throw pitty pat shots with poor technique. The pads are there to work on your punching power and technique, I do not think you should anything back.
Read what I said in the description. Speed and Defense. That ok with you Champ? You should tell me because obviously you got more boxing knowledge then the mayweathers.
Ok, I missed the point in your description, no need to get offended. Generally you work the pads for technique and power, as great trainers like Emanuel Steward and Trinidad Sr do. I am not familar with this pitty pat Mayweather training stuff and not sure it suits a guy with average skills like you and me. It may help your speed and conditioning. As far as defense, you might be able to improve it in real sparring sessions as this the closest to reality.
You are ****ing helpful. I do go to the gym I don't see anyone there doing this specific defense/speed kind of padwork. Mostly combo's and power shots like the other guy said. I don't want to copy mayweather but if you can't see the benefits of this drill thats your problem.
well by the looks of it you dont know the benefits yourself, i mean how could you, you've never incoprorated it into your training, how would you know about it:rofl
What the **** are you talking about. Sure I know slips, dips, and blocking.. but not in the context of this drill. Is it that ****ing hard to get into your head?? ****ing keyboard warriors I swear.
:rofl keyboard warrior? :rofl :rofl look whos talking! join a gym kid, its obvious you know nothing:hi:
this kid thinks mayweathers pad drill will make him champion or atleast a better boxer. want to become good? spar.
Right, I'm a keyboard warrior for asking about a specific pad drill. You responding with "You SucK!1 LOL! Go to A GYM" doesn't make you look like you are trying to feel important via-internet at all..
