read the posts!to prove he is GOAT,if floyd thinks he is the greatest that's only way to do that because as you said the competition is not there.

many posters have misunderstood my point, gladly there are couple clever ones who get my point.

When Henry Armstrong found out you can money in boxing he walked off his railroad job and into the history books.

Fighters in the past knew then what we know now about boxing's devastating effects.

    Even morseso.

Lord knows they saw plenty more deaths in the ring and guys walking around on their heels.... "punchy" isn't a recent word.

Man,we can't tell those old timers shi.t about getting fu.cked up in the ring.

I want to see him go up and fight sergio, sergios regarded as no1 so that's who he should target. He has nothing to lose now, 45-0 cleared out 140-154 and everyone agrees that nobody can beat him realistically. Move up floyd and take the chance, even if he was to take an L he'd still gain credibility for taking on the challenge of being the first guy since duran to go from lightweight to middleweight and win a title... and even with a loss he'd stil be regarded as an ATG...

I think he should fight garcia dec/jan time, sergio in may then iv no idea lol

    Look at 160 today..
    Not exactly an ATG era.

Floyd started at 130 and cant even keep 150 on his small frame.
Any fool can see 160 is entirely too much.

I don't see anybody telling all that trash at MW to move up to 168 or 175 since their division blows.

From now until may he could easily put on a few lb's of muscle if he started weight training thus increasing his weight.. would he be the same boxer he is now? I don't imagine it would affect him too much but who knows thats why its a risk and one i think he should take.. im a big floyd fan and just think he has nothing to lose trying it out.. he should go after sergio though whos a smalish middle, golovkin etc are all way to big for him naturally & sergios the no.1 middle so it's a win win..

Of course they knew the potential effects of the game, but they did not know how little of the game can trigger these effects. To say they did is just silly since the medical community has only known in the past decade or two.

One must also consider the times then and also the natural competitive nature of the athlete. I'm not saying that there wouldn't be anyone willing to fall on their swords i.e. Diego Corrales vs JLC, but the top tier guys (where all the money has always been in boxing) would definitely think twice about the slug fests they get into, if they had other means to win a fight.

You just want to see him lose:deal

Floyd started at 130...it's impossible to win titles from super feather to junior middle without taking chances..Even your dog knows that.

Floyd doesn't need Sergio for shi.t..legacy wise or financially.

    Hell...Sergio hasn't done shi.t his entire career.
Let him and GG move up and take a few chances...for a change..

Seems like Mayweahter is the only guy required to move beyond his best weight.

Since he has nothing to lose then why not just jump to LHW or HW and do what no one else has done in history?! Point is it's silly just because he has intangible skills to succeed in the ring against anyone near his size. Unfortunately, he competes in a sport where size and power eventually supersede all other variables...hence, why we have weight classes.

They knew....as did the medical community.

Pugilisic dimentia was recognized and diagnosed 90 years ago....stop acting like people were stupid right until last year.

Stories of guys getting brain damaged or paralized from little damage in the ring have echoed through the world of boxing from jump.

There were cries to outlaw boxing since the very start...because of all the death and damage it causes.

You are not a Floyd fan.

If you were you wouldn't be PRETENDING that adding muscle wouldn't affect him.

Boxing isn't football.Adding muscle isn't the answer to everything.

The seal at the zoo knows.

Mayweather doesn't have to put on muscle. He can weigh whatever he wants as long as the other guy doesn't come over the limit of 160
