I'm sure he didn't, but his point being that we have fans so dumb and dense that they actually think that Mayweather whooped Canelo's ass.

FOr an ass whooping refer to Mayweather-Maidana I, Broner-Maidana, Jose Luis Castillo-Mayweather I, ODLH-J. Mayaweather.

    Those are ass whoopings.

Mayweather Sr. was thinking about his next paycheck. To be honest, I thought Mayweather held back in that fight to make a rematch possible and it ended up being scored closer than he thought it would. Props to you for being such a staunch De la Hoya defender. I kid on here about Oscar but he would fight anyone, I give him credit for that.

the only fight of those that was close was the maidana-floyd fight.

JLC v Floyd was a clear 116 to 112 for floyd on my card.

floyd vs oscar was about a clear 118-110 for floyd arguable 116-112

I think you are taking it in a way I didn't intend for some reason.

In the fight, Mayweather was the one who had his ribs battered, and his nose busted up and swollen.

Mayweather won because he was the next face of boxing and was able to land a few more jabs than Oscar. It was a close fight and Mayweather was not going to risk his ZERO against DLH in a rematch, so instead of making more millions, he retired, waited for Oscar to move on, waited for Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Clottey to fight each other and the other top WWs, and then decided to comeback against a Light Weight.:deal

I don't defend anyone, I just call it how it is.

I know judging is subjective, but damn some Floyd fans make me think their education level is on par with Floyd's. :yep

lol Of course you do. You and I both know that the reason the rematch didn't happen is because Oscar wouldn't renegotiate the contract for the rematch. Floyd won the fight and was trying to sell a rematch in the in-ring interview. When have you heard the victor trying to talk up a rematch? Mayweather even threatened to fire Roger for training Forbes "for trying to mess up my money" and Jeff had to train him instead. Oscar was shot and Mayweather knew it. If Oscar had renegotiated the contract, the rematch would have occurred.

The best fighter Floyd ever fights in their prime he goes life and death with him. Can you imagine a prime DLH against Mayweather?

He is the biggest con artist of all time.

He deliberately avoided any great fighter in their prime.

FFS, he got destroyed in sparring by a 122 pound Erik Morales.

then why would I score maidana vs mayweather a draw? surely if I was a mayweather fanatatic, I'd give mayweather more rounds in that fight no?

if you actually watched the fights like I did you'd see your judgement is clouded.

The way Oscar fought the last 3 rounds against Trinidad is the way Mayweather chooses to fight the few higher volume punchers he has faced.

As for Whitaker, he was too busy moving his feet and head that he forgot to throw meaningful punches. Very unlike Whitaker if you've even seen him fight. Whitaker had great defense and stood in the pocket, but against his toughest foe he decides to flick a jab and run around the ring like a clown. Sweet Pea through a few more jabs than Oscar, but In the power punch department he was out landed.

this thread is drifting off into FMJ DLH la la land..

it’s drifted off from its original purpose which was what Mayweather said about Canelo.

First let me just say that I thought this interview by Floyd was one of his best. It was a very entertaining interview and Floyd should be commended for giving a very good and honest interview.

When he said this about if Canelo get out of line , I think what he said was “you violate our demonstrate”. Like “IF” Canelo were to violate their so-called “demonstrate”.. then he’ll come back and fight Canelo.

Now I’m not sure what ya’ll take that comment to mean but he had some interesting lines during this interview. when he was first asked about Canelo he had a very funny reaction like he was at a loss for words. then he settled down and said some things about Canelo like “MFer can fight..” and said that Canelo is one of the top guys in the sport.
