Pacquiao i dont believe can knock Mayweather out. you all saw the punch Mosley caught mayweather with and he recovered that same round but i think there's a possibility Pacquiao can out work Mayweather. Clottey stayed in a shell defense and Pac didnt have anything to hit and yet he kept throwing, it didnt discourage him.

Mayweather recovered because Mosley couldn't finish him(credit to Floyd's defense) and that he gassed(nervous energy, also credit to Floyd in a way) so he wasn't able to repeat getting Floyd stunned again. Pacquiao at his best will not tire like Mosley did plus can fight for 12 rounds. With his speed and better punch placement than Mosley I wouldn't be surprised to see Mayweather hurt. You're right that it's a difficult task to discourage Pacquiao. He still fired back when Morales(1st and 2nd fight) & JMM(both fights) gave him fits.

Azteca warriors are too brave for their own good and want to prove their dick size, so they don't play the clinch game. Guys from America know their country is the greatest nation when it comes to prizefighting, so they aren't so worried about being "warriors" and use the clinch when necessary.

    Marquez matched Pacquiao's stamina.

    But Floyd still dominated Marquez.

No shame in clinching if you're hurt it just hurts me when guys want to clinch instead of fight even when they don't appear hurt. All boxers that get in the ring to fight are warriors imo.

Tactical clinching will help when it comes to whooping emmanuel. He's another foreigner who never bothered to learn the clinch game!

Emmanuel is fighting one of the biggest huggers in the sport in a month. Watch what happens when Shane tries to clinch. :hey

You have to know HOW to properly get into the clinches too. I'm not sure if Shane is still able to pull it off at his age. Hatton loved to play the clinch game, but he didn't know how to get in there safely.

Cotto had emmanuel in a clinch once or twice purely out of luck and didn't know how to take advantage of it.

marg had emmanuel in a clinch by luck also, but at least he hit emmanuel a few times in the clnch.

Since when is clinching the way to beat Manny? None of the guys who gave him trouble in the past clinched with him, or outfought him on the inside. manny doesnt clinch bc he doesnt have to. He knows how to get back out when he's on the inside, and turn his opponents around. I'd like to see Floyd come forward and try to use clinches on Manny.

That's why emmanuel said Morales uppercuts were apart of the reason why he got his AZZ beat in the 1st post fight in ring interview.

Some good posts in this thread which is a rare occurrence, there are lots of miniscule details which could have an effect should the fight happen and I like a lot of the points made with regards to various attributes both guys possess and also some potential weaknesses. If it's going to happen it needs to happen relatively soon before either show any signs of decline. Both have been around for a while now and if it does happen it could even come down to mentality. Make no doubt about it, if this fight gets made it could come down to belief, confidence and patience, the mental game could swing it.
