Will that really even help though? I mean, he can say he retired, but if he fights again, win or lose, was he really retired? IMO, I wouldn't count that as tying, because it wasn't a real retirement. I don't know if there's a rule in this situation or not though.
If Floyd Mayweather agrees to fight Golovkin at 154lbs, I will become a Floyd fan - win or lose. If he drains Golovkin below 154lbs, I will not give Floyd credit for taking that fight. Instead, he's fighting Andrew Burt because he's Duck Runhugger.
