Does he automatically reclaim P4P status? Or does he have to earn it back?

He would have to earn it from Pac.

I would imagine he will be moved to #2 or #3.

Top 5. He needs to earn the # 1 by beating Pac @ 140.

I don't think he will reenter the list until he fights again.

But after the year Pac has had, he has to retain p4p #1.

mayweather lost #1 p4p when he became "inactive" for this year. as for pac, he won against jmm @130 to win another alpha belt and lineal title. he also won vs. d. diaz @135 to get another alpha belt and won a 147-lb superfight w/ dlh during the same time span. that should already be enough for pac to overtake pbf considering the latter's "inactivity". mayweather will probably have to beat pac to get it again considering that pac is lined up to fight hatton next.

now, can pbf be re-instated at #2 or 3 which jmm and calzaghe now hold? yes, probably. if this is so, mayweather can even inherit the #1 p4p back if pac loses to hatton.
