Sorry to ask an ignorant question but what purpose does Jump rope serve? What does it accomplish?

its good for overall cardio especially for combat sports

1.it helps you keep on your toes longer in a fight
2.it really gives your leg an overal workout
3.it serves the same purpose as running so you wont gas
4.if you mix in combination it works as cordination training as well

Overall conditioning and CV.The jump rope is like a strenous run but your using more muscles in explosive bursts.Literally every muscle gets a work out.Including arms obliques abs and obviously your legs.Depending on your pace and routine you can build up very good stamina but the lactic build up in your arms and delts is a ****ing killer. Its definitly a great work out routine.

Both links show great speed. They both show the fighters jumping with one leg. The technique looks more like showing off rather than helping your fighting technique?
