Mayweather said the last fight in his true prime was against Gatti, is he telling the truth?

Is that just an excuse? He says that the reason he wasn't knocking people out on a consistent basis later on in his career was because his body broke down, specifically his hands, after that Gatti fight. Video is a bit old but interesting nonetheless.

I've always said his last prime fight was jmm after that there was a slight but noticeable decline in his overall ability.

Hard to tell through all the cherry picking and if we're being honest, he essentially got busted for cheating vs Pacquiao. Unless you actually believe he was dehydrated fighting at weight he'd been amply comfortable at for about a decade.

Before you flame and try to paint me as some Pac fan, I don't love or hate either. It's a shame Floyd felt he had to do that because I don't personally believe any version of Pacquiao beats him. He is a pretty insecure dude obviously though. Elite talent, but not the most likeable guy.

That seems more like the truth,
He started getting hit with flush shots & bombs more regularly after that fight,
Mosley , Cotto & Maidana come to mind.

He’s right, he never performed at that A to A+ level ever again. The Gatti fight was his best performance 100%, he looked unbelievable. It’s the most one sided beat down I have ever seen. The peak of his powers which we didn’t see again.

In my opinion he beat everyone after that at about 80-85%, I think alot of it has to do with him fighting above 140 from that point on too aswell as his hand issues. Floyd is not a welterweight, that’s his walking around weight but he fought there and did well.

He showed glimpses of what he was truly capable of in the Hatton fight but that was messy for the most part so difficult to say, and against Canelo through 12 he looked really good but was a completely different style that he formed compared to him at 135lbs.

But to answer your question, yes you would have to believe him based on the eye test aswell as other factors

Would you say the possibility exists, that Pac was juiced for the Floyd fight?

Floyd's boxing is far below his scamming skills. Floyd, the Fraud, has been setting up opponents and winning fights even before he got in the ring with them. The question should be when was Floyd's scamming at its prime.

True it’s evident on the eye test. Against Gatti he was as good as SRR ever was maybe better.
