That's why In my first post I said in a p4p sense I think he is likely the best ever. I actually am not a fan of the way Floyd presents himself to the meida but thats what works for him.

I have watched all the greats and Floyd and I can say this with no ego that Floyd is the best I have ever laid eyes on. And no Robison, Greb or Pep are not better boxers.

Who do you think is better then Mayweather? By the way I rate Paquiao very highly also and am a big fan of Morales.

Patterson was 30 the first Ali fight.

Someone was obviously influenced by that Thrilla Doc. Why would Ali quit when he dealt the most punishment in any round in the entire trilogy.

As for unwarranted decisions. Can't mention Norton without mentioning Walcott deserving the decision over Louis.

Best defensive fighter ever. Pep and Whitaker obviously have easy arguments over Floyd in terms of defense as well.

No expert boxing analyst will ever rate Floyd the best ever or even the best defensive fighter ever.. Only his deluded fans will.

Fair enough. The most devastating fighter I've ever seen on tape is Robinson. And thats mostly at middleweight. I dont think we have any film of him at Welter which was where he didnt just clean out the division, he cleaned out the entire world in that weight class.

He had some flaws. Tended to fight with his hands at his waist. Sometimes looped his punches instead of throwing them tight and compact. But he was so devastating and talented it really didnt matter. Best fighter I've seen on tape definitely.

Hearns to me is the most complete fighter I've ever seen. Would favor him H2H of any fighter in history at 147-154lbs with the exception of Robinson.

Yep I'd favor a prime Hearns over a prime Leonard at 147 even though he lost. There is a reason Leonard never rematched Hearns until both were past it. He know he got lucky down the stretch. A better prepared, better conditioned Hearns survives the late rally and beats Leonard IMO.

Mayweather has never fought another ATG in their prime so too call him the best ever is stretchin it just a bit.. I would say he is 40-50 on the ATG list although he could move up with wins over Cotto, Pacquiao and Martinez.

It was tongue and cheek if you've ever seen the barbershop scene from coming to America.

Anyways, Patterson was past his best. I wasnt influenced by the Thrilla doc. It was well known for a long time that Ali was gonna quit. It was only made known to the wider audience after. Ali was going to throw in the towel. Infact Frazier made it seem like he was ok with Futch stopping it. He wasnt, Frazier held a grudge against Futch for a long time because he did that.

A past it Louis did get a gift wrap present against Walcott the first time. But guess what he put a stamp on matters the 2nd time.

Ali never decisively beat Norton! infact it can be argued that Norton won all 3 fights! :deal

Floyd is so ****ing over rated it's unbelievable. If you call avoiding tough competition as defense then yes he is, otherwise **** no. This ***** refuses to test his defensive skills against prime competition so no way to really find out. You can't become the best just by saying it over and over. He's not even the best fighter of his time ffs :patsch

If Mayweather was the best ever, others would be saying that on his behalf. The fact he has to say it himself and they try selling it, tells you all you need to know. A fighter like Duran would show Mayweather what a true fighter will do to win a fight.

I would favor Floyd in all those fights. I just can't figure out why he does not fight Pacquiao it is not an easy fight for him but he should be able to win. Its would be risking his 0 slightly thats all I can think of.

No they dont. There was a study done before the Oscar fight that showed that Mayweather got hit less then Pernell Whitaker did in his championship fights.

No disrespect to Whitaker top 5 favorite fighters ever who I rank neck and neck with Floyd in terms of Mayweather defensively, and someone I rate much higher because his better offensive versatility, he got put on his ass by Mayweathers uncle Roger and McGirt. Noone's put Mayweather on his ass to this day.

Whitaker defense was primarily based on his spider sense like reaction times, and athleticism. Where as Mayweather is more technical, as to why Mayweather is still a master at 35. And Whitaker was completely done by that age.
