Wasn't it a left jab from Burton that opened up Floyds nose?:think

I think Corely caughtly FMJ more than Castillo, Cotto and Augustus. I watched that fight the other day, and was shocked at how many times Mayweather's head got snapped back in the first 6 rounds or so. Of course, he went on to whip Corely's ass...

As far as his biggest struggle, it has to be Castillo. As far as a in-the-trenches war...Cotto. but I don't think he had to work for it as hard vs Cotto than he did vs Castillo. I haven't seen the Augustus fight in many years, so I can't speak on it.

Castillo had great stamina and swarmed Floyd nonstop...Cotto Hirt Floyd and cut the ring.
Floyd knows 1st hand who to respect on an exogamy basis!!!

Floyd assumed Cotto was shot and was proved wrong and he is simply acknowledging !!!

i voted for cotto, castillo, and augustus. all were difficult fights that mayweather was forced to show heart in and taken out of his comfort zone.

Nah. Floyd just made it hard on himself to give the fans what they wanted. Cotto was just there as window dressing. Floyd even had a capsule of stage blood hidden in his nose for effect. He could have easily KO'd Cotto in the first round if he wanted to or given him a life threatening beating through 12 if he chose to. The *****s say so and I, for one, believe every word of it. Every other time they tell me I have to take what "Floyd His Almighty Self" says as gospel, but I guess this is an exception. :think

I say Castillo, Augustus (Burton at the time), Cotto.

Castillo is no doubt his toughest fight, even if he doesn't mention it often. As Leon said, even in the rematch Castillo won rounds which isn't easy to do against a boxer with high IQ.

I put Augustus as 2 because of the damage they did to each other. I think this was when he had Roger and not Sr., and was far more offensive minded. I feel that adds to how tough the fight was. When Floyd is defensive minded its harder to hit him cleanly when you lead AND he's throwing less and one at a time so it's hard to counter him. If you haven't seen that fight, WATCH IT. Floyd pretty much threw everything but the kitchen sink at Augustus and he stayed pressuring Floyd till it was stopped. Floyd won clearly, but Augustus got his shots in. First time I really remember Floyd being busted up. I understand why he's said it was his toughest prior to Cotto.

Cotto goes behind both of these. While I think he troubled Floyd at times, he didn't visually seem to bother him as much as either. I think Cotto landed less, and honestly did less damage although Floyd's face was busted. Cotto's size surely bothered Floyd and had success in spurts. I just don't think what he did can be compared to Castillo and Augustus's fights with Floyd.
