It means exactly what it says, but he's not done yet. He's the face of boxing right now, and no one out there in the weight divisions that he is in is even close to how great he is. He will continue to dominate for at least 3 more years. Unless an incredible new prospect pops up out of no where. He retires undefeated. Also, he's barely been touched in his fights. He's no where near done yet.
floyd is worth 200 million why keep fighting:deal he made the right moves in his prime beat the best available and now its time to kick rocks and retire as a legend. if cotto and williams can somehow make waves over the next 2 years then floyd will come out of retirement and tap that azz:deal
Sven Ottke retired Undefeated with a **** load of cash and his marbles intact , yet he still gets smacked for not fighting the other best in his division. why is PBF so different?. I mean I personally know that PBF has sublime skills etc etc and Ottke didnt, but they both retired/retiring undefeated, both made a load of money, both reached the top of their respective divisions, and both failed to unify or even fight any of the other top fighters in their weight division. so really the only thing that PBF has over Ottle is that he will have wasted a much higher god given talent.
Well that's reasonable actually. The guy could fight until he's 40, and there would still be people (Manny Steward) that would be pushing him, saying he still hasn't done it. Then what? He fight's well past his prime and looses his perfect record, and tarnishes his already phenomenal career? All for what? To prove to some haters what rational minds already know? Some would argue this is exactly what happened to Roy Jones Jr.
Agreed. and he does have things to prove, he has yet to prove he is the best in his division. He gets ranked number 1 becauise he is in the limelight and looks great in his fights but there is and always has been only one way to establish who is the best and that is the two little words "Prove it". Comparing fighters from different eras is always subjective and largely a complete waste of time but fighters from the same era in the same weight divisions? theres a very simply way, get in the ring
200 mil isn't that much. Tiger makes half of what Mr. "Money" makes every year.. Mayweather is worth a sliver of what Tiger is worth.
Well... He generally beats the best in each division (at least 5 of them anyway), so that would have to imply at least a tad bit of superiority. I mean if her lingered around at 135 or 140 and just beat all the up-and-comings that everyone claims he is ducking, would that really add to his legacy? For instance, if he were to fight, and dominate Paul Williams tomorrow, you honestly think he would get credit? He's earned his title as the best the sport has to offer, it's undeniable. Now it's a matter of careful business planning.
Yes I can see your point. but he hasnt actually beaten the best at LWW or WW . Tszyu was the best at WW in Floyds prime (and yes I know it wasnt his fault that they didnt fight) and Cotto is the other best at WW. Williams, Mosley and Cotto are of Floyds era and most would say that PBF is still in his prime. This always provokes the "well he fought the best availible", granted he may have done, but the same argument doesnt stack up for Calzaghe so it doesnt for Floyd either

He's still way up there, and considering he only "works" about 90 minutes a year....45 million works out to be $500,000/minute. Not to shabby. I mean if you consider training work it's less, but I don't. I train every day for free.
