Mayweather offered to help Wilder also.

    My answer is... meh?

Mayweather is not a trainer/manager. Boxers don't always make good trainers.

Mayweather isn't going to teach AJ a thing.

I think AJ is desperate to crack the American market, and especially get the African-American fanbase behind him, and build his image as the new "Money", and also to expand into the Asian markets and rising African markets.

Rather than, I dunno, let's say, win a title fight in Madison Square Garden, it's easier to pay Floyd Mayweather Jr. a few million in an attempt to buy instant credibility or at least increased attention from that demographic of consumers.

AJ isn't charismatic but he looks good and likes to show off flash trappings of wealth in the traditional "pop/hip-hop" style, and that has worked to build a certain lifestyle image that plays well globally.
    Money begats money.

Attention wh0re, hates that the spotlight isn't on him… And I fail to see what he could offer Joshua in the space of a few months LOL.. and besides, I'd like to see what Robert McCracken has to say about all this…

Floyd cant have the limelight not on him...
Biggest heavyweight fight since Tyson vs Lennox so he got to get involved for attention.

'Floyd, it's Eddie. Look, we've got this fight comin up and we need some buzz. How about you do 3 interviews and a couple of photo op's around the Joshua camp, we'll give you some lines to read. It'll probably be some bollocks around you having the secret formula to beat Fury, but we're still writing it up.

You'll get plenty of press so I'm happy for you to push your own products too as long as the messaging around AJ is front and centre. In return, I've got some slots on DAZN for Mayweather promotions fighters. We can work the details out later.'

I do not think that Mayweathers are bad in coaching, I think they are good.
Cus wasn't bad? Or was bad? He had Patterson and long after this Tyson. Styles makes fights and not all is suitable for every one.
He is nice but too protected in hometown. A side always from fights negotiations till officiating and refs ( Parker fight was cool proof ). Old opponents etc.

Why not? Conor was well known cos MMA and for fight vs Floyd Jr he get RECORD purse for a pro DEBUT fight in world's history.
Who is able to beat this?

Undermines McCracken a bit doesn’t it. Pretty pathetic asking for help off mayweather full stop, last person I’d ask

McCracken is not in sole control as trainer. Angel Hernandez and Joby Clayton were added post the first Ruiz fight loss and you can see the improvements. Mayweather will also improve AJ’s defence further.

He's probably in charge of setting up the saline drip. Joshua's chances increase significantly.

Years ago we had John Garfield on this site, great guy who trained with willy Pep.

He explained how difficult it was for Pep to put everything that came natural to him into words and training.
Sometimes great fighters are not really good coaches. Feel the same way about Floyd.
Or in football with Maradona for example.

    Cool.
There it depends also from communication etc alike things. Ofc. Way of thinking.

    I don't know.
Cus and Mayweather thing ( style ) are too specific to judge.
peek a bo requires very good legwork and good legs. Patience, a lot. No kicks allowed.

Folk keep on about Fury with his mind games, perhaps team AJ themselves are just playing their own form of such games.

Why the hell would mayweather help Aj. Thats the worst possible coach in preparation for Tyson Fury. He'd better get help from Marcos Maindana in preparation for Tyson Fury.

Aj does not need to improve his defense for Fury, he needs to improve his offense.

You’d think Floyd would’ve helped fury out instead? They both have that boring spoiler style
