His inactivity caused it, plus what is better marquez, diaz, oscar, hatton, cotto, clottey, margarito, mosley, marquez vs marquez, mosley, ortiz ?
Since after his retiremen lets say from 2008 pac has been number 1 and very active while floyd has been very inactive, but since marquez 3 a lot of people have floyd at 1 now, regarless of the rings choice.

Mayweather is P4P #1 and has been for years regardless of what these Pac fanboy sites seem to think.

That doesn't answer my question .. there's no way the POUND FOR POUND CHAMP loses to a fighter in his OWN division ... the whole point of being p4p is ; no one matches up to u .. especially not someone in your position

He's always been #1 since taking it away from Hopkins when he lost.

Pound for Pound is just a list that fanboys take serious. Pointless discussion.

So if floyd was at 160 and was underdog vs a inactive martinez while fighting all the guys at 160 wouldnt you put him 1?

It don't work like that. Mayweather may well be the favourite but he dropped off the pound for pound list because of inactivity. He gets a p4p ranking by beating Pac, and Pac will slip down the ranking, but no way Floyd becomes number 1.

I don't think so. His inactivity is preventing him from that. If he beats Pac, then yeah, but if him and Pac keep going the way they are, Manny will stay at #1 for a long time.

The Ring barely has Pac P4P#1. They kept him on top because they felt that even though he struggled against his last opponent, that opponent happened to another top P4P boxer JMM. If Pac struggles again in his next fight and Floyd wins reasonably (if they don't fight each other), they would make Floyd #1. If Pac faces JMM next, I think it's no different than the last 3 fights.
