Despite what you think about Algieri's defense, it's not that good. Algieri's defense consists of backpedaling or spinning out and "resetting", it's also his clamming up and putting his head down. When he's in his defensive mode he will be losing this battle, especially when he clams up. Hooks and uppercuts will be there all night. His best weapon against Floyd is his jab, THAT'S IT. Every other punch will be nothing that Floyd hasn't seen already. He's also an orthodox, conventional puncher, that makes it easier for Floyd roll his punches and evade. Algieri is also featherfisted, meaning Mayweather can take risks. That's why Pacquiao took risks, Algieri can't punch. That's why he took risks against Bradley too, and that's why he did NOT take risks against Rios. Algieri does not have the tools to worry Floyd. Any punch Floyd gets caught with won't hurt him, and he can make up for it later in the round. Floyd doesn't have to attack him the same way Pac did to dominate. You keep saying Algieri won't come forward, well newsflash, he will eventually. He'll be in range more often than not, maybe not against a small Taylor or Provo since they suck at "boxing" an opponent. He will attack Floyd and Algieri is open to counters, consistently. Floyd will also close range by cutting off the ring, "chasing" is for boxers who can't cut the ring off. This would also be a very boring fight. Floyd has every advantage over him except for size, and that size disadvantage didn't stop Provo or Pacquiao from reaching the so-called ellusive Algieri. The advantages are as follows: Hand Speed - Floyd Foot Speed - Floyd Strength - Floyd Power - ??? Footwork - Floyd Ring generalship - Floyd Experience - Floyd Size - Chris Ring IQ - Floyd Counters - Floyd Chris literally has NOTHING to make him the betting favorite or even remotely close. It was a cherry pick for Pac and it's a cherry pick for Floyd. Stop trying to make Algieri out to be something he's not. Keep it real.
i am not saying chris would beat him but dont expect him to run like how did against pac one thing which will help chris cause against floyd is floyds lack of power and aggressiveness chris WILL NOT GET HURT BY FLOYD
It's comments like these that make you guys lose all credibility. You're just fanboys of Pacquiao. It's not even about boxing, it's just Pacquiao. I find it very strange.
Pac made CHRIS RUN LIKE A ***** CHRIS NEVER EVEN ATTEMPTED TO GET HIS PUNCES GOING BECAUSE HE WAS SCARED
And now you resort back to not even directly responding to my comment. Typical... It's like you're trained to say the same ****.
chris was taking **** trying to say he could beat pac and got ****ed up he had no answer for all the speed and power as did bradley he wilted and gave up on himself
Victims of the top rank promo machine all over this one. Rios and Algieri are b list fighters get over it
