If the master of greed and getting massively overpaid even sees it, then it probably means things have gotten pretty damn bad.
He's a walking contradiction again. Athletically gifted but such a dumbass outside the ring especially when he opens his mouth.
This is all Floyd's doing. Himself and Al Haymon promised their fighters higher pay. They are just demanding what they signed for.
I feel Floyd is saying just win and take some short term sacrifices and the money will come to you. He was not always demanding BIG MONEY but he eventually got to the position of having that power. I don't find his logic that far off base.
Pbf earned his way to the ppv cash king he didn't get big money fights until after gatti when he reinvented himself
There were times when HBO and Uncle Bob were short changing Floyd big time as they made money off of him. Floyd earned his cash the hard way...He fought for it like most should
not sure if the part about him and top rank is true with the whole "sorry floyd we dont have enough to pay you" but he does have a point. heaps of guys want to be like floyd mayweather inside the ring, they want to be like mayweather in the finance department but they dont want to make the same sacrafices he made to get ontop the biggest one im always seeing is floyd jumping up to fight ODLH while ODLH was the superstar and dictated all of the terms and floyd just had to agree because he had no say as a smaller draw. then years and years later we see people on here have a dig at floyd over the glove fiasco in the maidana fight, maidanas gloves were deemed illegal for use by the commissions yet a backup pair of the same make and model glove were deemed ok?. and people complained because floyd got upset and forced him to wear a certain style of glove of hes choosing yet disregard the fact that maidana clearly tried to cheat (not at a margarito level perhaps but still cheating)
I was with you up until the Maidana tried to cheat with illegal gloves. Floyd often had to take smaller purse and how quickly fans forget that part of his career
Hypocritical because he robbed us of one of the greatest fights of all time because of money. Oddly enough he is still one of my favorite fighters.
This isnt about Floyd. Who cares what he said before. The man is right about this subject, young up and coming fighters need to put themselves in a strong position before asking crazy money. One or two fights won that are 50-50 arent gonna put you in a position that you can cherry pick anyone and still make big bucks. Floyd should talk to Haymon and use his own influence to put some sense in those young cats. First become THE MAN by unifying your division THEN you can call some shots. After a very slow 2016, finally the influential voices want to make it right again. No more 2 mil paydays for Adonis for fighting bum of the day, also Lara getting that phat check against Jan Zaveck was a disgrace, who he gonna wanna fight after that and with what money ? The spoiling of boxers that arent big names is one of the reasons this sport is shrinking compared to UFC. Cards can be more deep with good fights if the fighters are paid what they truly deserve. Nowdays you dont even see a PPV card that has more than 2 fights worthy of not being called mismatches. Its preposterous.
