"With my incident coming up, I don't worry about that. I'm prepared for it. I'm pretty sure Martin Luther King's been to jail. I'm pretty sure Malcom X has been to jail. There has been more that's been to jail. I've taken the good with the good, I'll accept the bad with the bad. It's just an obstacle that's put in your way. I can get through anything. "Am I guilty? Absolutely not. You know, I took a plea. You know, sometimes, they put is in a no-win situation. I had no choice but to take a plea. I never want to drag my family through the mud. I didn't want to bring my children to court. I've never raised my hands to my children. You know, I've got four beautiful children and I love them, dearly. "I'm supposed to be going to prison in June, and the only thing I can do is to keep my fingers crossed and to hope for the best and to try to stay positive. Can't nothing break me. I'm still going to be strong. If I'm locked up, I'm still going to make sure that my mother's got the finer things in life, and my sisters. I take care of my whole family."
atsch did floyd really try to draw a parallel between him going to jail, and civil rights heros like martin luther king, and malcolm x going to jail over JUSTIFIED CAUSES they believed in? Oh wow. . .
Nobody knows what happened. Its not like a little jail time is going to affect his life or ability to make a living. Some people would rather not put their family through all of that, and risk leaving their fate in the hands of 12 strangers, when he could plead to a misdemenaor and get it over with. I don't condone beating women unless they are attacking you. I don't have firsthand access to all of the evidence but from What i do know, I don't believe that he beat her just like I don't believe that tyson raped that pageant chick.
i do agree he prolly did the right thing by pleading out. . . prolly best for his family, AND him, so photos, kids testimony, videos, etc. aren't released, further proving he beat her up. . . i don't think he damn near killed her or anything, but i think he did put hands on her pretty hard. . . he wouldn't have been charged without sufficient corroborating evidence like bruises, eyewitness statemrnts, etc.
that's why he plead out. . . prolly part of the plea deal. . . like i said, cops have to have corroborating evidence to arrest, and prosecutors deifnitely have to have evidence to charge somebody in battery cases. . .
