He was talented way, way, WAY before anyone knew who he was outside of boxing. When he adopted the money persona it helped make the casual fan stand up and take notice. I think we can agree with that. If you wanna make that Oscar/Tyson-type money you got to do something that draws the publics interest(not just the boxing fans). This ain't the old days when boxing was much bigger. In ring ability won't cut it alone because if it did, there would be alot more boxers making million dollar paydays.

Or unless they're making 20+ million paydays. Then they should continuing talking. Correct?

Exactly.. Floyd wants all the attention. He's like a spoiled child. When Victor brought up his rough times as a youth.. Floyd countered with "All black children raise themselves" LMAO... Newsflash Floyd.. The 24/7 was about Victor Ortiz and Floyd Mayweather, not random black children! :rofl :patsch

Floyd is just soo disrespectful, Im glad he's being decent when it comes to Cotto! He must really respect Miguel!

I have to disagree ,He was made a household name after his fight with Oscar ,Oscar Tyson even Tito didn't have to act like fools on TV to sell ..

Manny doesn't have to be a loud mouth to sell ,the public likes winners ..Floyd could have maintained his draw by just fighting ,now he just has more critics if anything ..But the fact that he keeps winning is what keeps him at the top no ?

Comparing what Malcolm X and Martin Luther King went to jail for to him bashing the missus and having the kids call the cops?

    Good god.

He became a household name, because his **** talk to DLH helped hype the **** out of the fight.

Many became popular because he has an exciting style the casual can understand.

If Floyd didnt trash talk the **** out of Oscar that fight wouldnt have been as big as it was. And Tito never did anywhere near the numbers Floyd does.

Tell me if winning is all it takes then why wasnt Pernell huge?

The money persona was born in the Oscar/Mayweather fight build-up.

Oscar had the female fanbase on lock(I hear you laughing, don't underestimate that).

Tyson and Tito were both KO artist.

Manny also has a very pleasing fight style to the casual fans. Plus the whole choir boy thing doesn't hurt. He has all the religious nutz out there tuning in. Look at Tim Tebow.

Floyd is a boxer through and through. No brawling is in his blood. He doesn't have the same pop he had at the lower weights. So how can a man like that grab and hold on to the casual viewing public attention who normally wouldn't gravitate towards that. The answer was from the Oscar fight. Do you honestly believe that if Floyd hadn't gone all buckwild during the prefight buildup that that fight would have made as much as it did? He found his answer after viewing the revenue.

All Floyd does, and has done, is WIN. He even had a more pleasing style back in his earlier days, was bronze medal winner in the Olympics, and had all sorts of praise for his once in a lifetime boxing talent. Yet no one was really tuning in other than us boxing fans. Top it all off with the fact that the Oscar fight was pretty much a letdown for the casual fan wanting nothing but blood-n-gutz. And you get what I'm saying.

Pernell didn't have the style to be exciting I mean lets be honest ..Just look at his fight with Oscar ..That was a snooze fest compared to his fight with Floyd !

And Oscr facing the best fighter P4P was the reason Floyd became a star !Not because of Floyd's trash talking ..If that were the case he would have never needed Oscar ! And Tito did pretty good behind Oscar and Mike before Floyd became a star ..Lets look at Floyd's numbers before Oscar then if thats the case ..

If Floyd hadn't have been acting like such a jerk, he could be enjoying several endorsement contracts that could rival his boxing purses. Dumbass.

If your the so-called P4P Kink - yeah, then only earning $20+ million per fight makes you a dumbass! Floyd could be earning that much more per year in commercial endorsement contracts if he wasn't such a jerk - that would be at least $40+ million a year! Or...doesn't the "Money Team" think money is really cool?

I guess Floyd can figure it out while he's in Jail.
