Bull****. He tried the roll, the forearm, the clinching, bitching to the ref, etc. He tried it all but Maidana has having none of it:deal

It should now be obvious that you don't just see a cool move and try to emulate it. Not as a professional. Floyd's style isn't what makes him great, it's his discipline and years upon years of repetitions and experience against top amateurs and pros. Doesn't matter how athletic you are--defensive mastery takes high-level experience and a lifetime of practice.

shoulder roll is super easy to imitate, but extremely hard to master. If you haven't been training it since you started boxing you can't master it like mayweather.

Broner doesn't have the footspeed that Floyd does which is why he couldn't get out of Maidana's range.

So basically what you're saying is that it's virtually useless as a boxing technique as you need to be supremely gifted to to use it. BUT then is this really about the technique itself or just having exceptional reflexes? In other words, I'm sure Mayweather could have been groomed with some other style and been just as effective.

Sr maybe a lot of things but he knows his boxing all right. He especially knows a thing or two about the shoulder roll too.

I've said this countless times about both Berto and Broner: they were too unproven.
I've said it was laughable for them to be lined up as potential opponents to the likes of Mayweather or Pacquiao.
Sure they were undefeated, sure they looked near invincible when they fight, but fact is they haven't fought anyone at the top tiers of boxing. See what happened as soon as they did.

Yes, I guess Void, Sr. was correct about Broner. I also think Void, Sr. was correct about not allowing Void, Jr. to fight Pac. Yes, he said that right after Pac stopped Cotto. Void has been running ever since..........

He was getting tagged by that left despite the shoulder roll. He should've just switched high guard or something.

Maidana was throwing strange looking hooks, throwing them from high up.

Does he usually do this or was this a tactic against Broner?

Since when do you have to be a genius to figure that out?
I guess this whole site is littered with geniusses then, cause many here figured the guy would fall apart again when fighting someone good.
