I just think the Mayweather's know how much money they can make fighting average fighters. The more a fighter fights, the less he's worth, so as long as Mayweather is only in the ring once a year, there aren't many opponents out there, he won't make over $20m against. Even guys like Berto, who stand no chance, would be a big money fight for Floyd because he's doing the right thing by only fighting once a year. It's sensible and even though it's a mega money fight, the risk of losing against Pacquiao probably isn't worth it. Let's say he makes $60m but loses. If he keeps his undefeated record and fights once for the next three years, he makes $60m and then more in the future. It's just not worth the risk to him right now because without that '0' on the end of his record, he won't make money.

 

Manny called Mayweather's bluff. We know that Team Mayweather, either Ellerbe or Haymon, accepted the fight knowing what Floyd demanded. They accepted because both sides came to a true agreement. Manny was ready to sign and Floyd wasn't.

Even if it was just Arum who had said it, which it isn't, all Mayweather or one of his team had to do was simple say "It's not true" yet they didn't. They allowed his name to be dragged through the mud. People called him a coward every day on forums like ESB, on boxing sites, on mainstream news sites and on international TV. He would have come out and said "it's not true", if it wasn't.
