They're not in the same division. Paul Williams stops Wlad in the 4th round anyways.

So the problem comes back to difference in the time taken for Mayweather and Pacquiao to respectively dispose of Hatton.

To this I would come back to the contrasting styles of Mayweather and Pacquiao. Mayweather is primarily defensive; Pacquiao primarily offensive.

I would also come back to the fact that Hatton faced Mayweather at 147 and Pacquiao in Hatton's domain, at 140. In the case of the latter. Hatton made a big deal of this size difference and that he felt he was facing a little man (that he didn't think could hurt him). This probably explains why Hatton immediately employed the tactics of coming forward with his hands down, throwing wild swings and blocking punches with his face.

Either way, I don't think it can be asserted with any certainty that Mayweather faced a better version of Hatton than Pacquiao.

Floyd is a genius at picking people.......

Isn't is Coach Roach who openly states why they pick fighters before they fight them???? That guy admits to cherry picking, and imposing weight clauses....even made the WW ****ing champion defend his title below 147lbs :patsch Then fought Clottey at 147lbs. Don't start in about that **** dude, Pac is worse than Floyd with it. At least Floyd fought a fresh Oscar at 154lbs, didn't make him suck dry to 147lbs.

And you expose your ignorance by saying Pac fought Hatton at his "natural weight". No, he didn't. The only reason Hatton fights at 140lbs is becasue the smaller competition can be handled better, given his huggy style. You honestly in your head believe Hatton is a better fightter at 140 then 147, regardless of competition. I do not! I think he is more comfortable and stronger at 147, which is why he tried to move up to that weight! and he even admitted that much. :deal Answer to the question, Floyd fought a fresher and stronger and an UNDEFEATED Ricky hatton, Pac fought Floyds sloppy seconds.

Pretty much every boxer in world boxing would be a 'better fighter regardless of competition' at a higher weight than the one they fight at. If they weigh lower at the weigh in than they weigh in the ring, then they're not fighting at their natural weight.

'Regardless of competition' is a fine concept up until you have to fight someone. Hatton's natural weight in terms of actual boxing reality was always 140.

No but we are speaking about 2 specific fighters Floyd and Pac and which one fought the better Ricky Hatton.

Wtf is this .. pac was 16 when he was a fly weight .. when may was 16 he was also a flyweight .. difference is 1 was pro the other was amateur ... that isn't his natural weight .. he can't make that weight anymore ... nothing natural about that ... his body grew so he moved up .. I don't even think he can make 130 anymore so plz save this natural weight **** .. he for 4 times @ 140 or higher and that's where u rate him now so that makes him a legit welter or jr. Welter ...
Now tell me would pac fight hatton in england? Not @ all .. floyd looks for advantages but so does pac cuz if that wasn't the case pac would've fought shane ... every boxer looks to fight people who they have advantages over ... but may is so good that every1 tries to take that away from him ... I'm all for a discussion but stop being so bias ... hatton was in better condition in the floyd fight than he was in the pac fight

There's no solid evidence to support that claim.
