just rumors. they dont make any sense. he made 146 against marquez and is talking about possible fights with other walters. we would hear from arum or team pacquiao if mayweather was making weight the issue.
The article doesn't make sense. Why would wiggle room be requested by Mayweather if the fight isn't taking place at catchweight? Unless this pops up on a reputable site, I'm not worried about it.
Thx for the update. :thumbsup I found the source and if this news is in fact accurately reported then it would indeed be a absolute shame. I however find it hard to believe that Floyd couldn't make 147. Perhaps this his his way of trying to negotiate 10 oz gloves or who knows what other preferences. I expected a difficult negotiation given the history of the 2 fighters so this just smells like more posturing.
I'm not worried about this fight not happening over reasons like that.. Its gonna take somebody actually getting injured for this fight not to happen.. Too much money to be made...
The RING confirmed that Mayweather came in at 156 for the Marquez fight. Mayweather looked plenty big and was the amongst the sharpest we've ever seen him. If weight is really an issue, than **** it. He can't hide from anybody. Who's he gonna fight at 154? Paul Williams, right? No Paul, well what about 160? Kelly Pavlik. It's a no win situation for Floyd. Both of those options are fights the public wouldn't be mad at if they took place.
Ok Jane, please explain to me how the article makes sense? Why would Floyd threaten to pull out of the fight because he wanted more wiggle room with the weight when the fight is taking place without a catchweight? Furthermore, why would he then talk about taking other fights at WW?
I'll take a lifetime ban with anyone that thinks mayweather will pull out because of the 147 weight limit. any takers? :deal If you believe that floyd is a ***** and will back out of the fight then step up to the plate
Floyd's camp knows how to get drama going. He wants more people to hate him because it will be even a bigger draw. After decade of hype for big fights I am surprised at how many people fall for this stuff. It is marketing! Wake up.
So I'm guessing all the "Floyd isnt a big welter and is a natural lightweight/junior welter" talk can stop now?
