Its also ******ed, who would say no to a $30+ mil payday because of a few pounds especially a guy who needs the money.
I know that, there's no need to mention it again and this thread is not a negative thread, it's something I read on a site I consider reliable. Opinions of other posters is what I seek and I'm sure someone will confirm if it's a bull**** or real rumor and that's what I am looking for.
Maybe they just said that to get more leverage during negotiations. But honestly, that's a ******ed tactic because all it does is make Floyd look bad...
Here's the thing though, he has to know damn well that Pac would never accept a fight over 147 lbs. It simply would make no sense to have the fight take place over the 147 lb. limit. Knowing this, why would Mayweather purposely torpedo the fight, cost himself $30+ mill, and open himself up to a ton of criticism and ridicule?
How much money did Floyd throw away for the rematch with DLH? Even that **** fight would have generated plenty of revenue from stunned masses. Regardless, If this article is indeed true, I think it's just a posturing attempt to get Manny to fight him at JMW. This was supposedly one of his stipulations for the fight.
honestly I'm quite surprised at how quiet the forums are with regards to this issue. I think most people are almost 100% sure that the fight will push through. Unlike when everyone was waiting for Pac to decide if he was interested in fighting Floyd, the every other thread in the general forum was a "Pac is a ***** and doesn't want to fight floyd!" thread... still maybe the news item needs more time to simmer before we start seeing "Floyd is a ***** and doesn't want to fight Pac!" threads. Personally I'll reserve all judgment until either the fight is officially called off or a contract has been signed by both sides.
this is ridiculous!! makes no damn sense!! If they fight at 154 then they should use UFC gloves to even the playing field!!! =D
