There are really no losers from this fight. Hatton got the biggest payday of his career. He probably didn't cash that check his ass wrote - but he cashed the one Oscar wrote. It's a win-win situation for him. His bank account grew much bigger - his status in boxing is pretty much the same (no shame losing to the best in the sport) - and he won over a bunch of American Fans. If you ask me - Floyd won the fight - but Hatton didn't lose much. He probably gained more from this fight - than he would have without it.

That's true: better to be outclassed yet give it your all and be KO'd, than to be able to win but to be unwilling to put it all on the line.
