I don't have much interest in seeing a Mayweather/Khan fight at this time.

 

Stylistically Khan has a better chance than many higher ranked guys vs Mayweather. Even though he has done v little to 'deserve' a Maywaether fight

Alexander and Maidana arent options either because of that fact.

At his point the only opponent that can sell is pacquiao...

If he fights can he deserves zero respect and deserves to be called a cherry picker, that fight is a ****ing joke no way i will pay a cent to watch the fight, Floyd will only enchance his reputation as a cherry picker if he fights Khan.

Arum has already slotted Pacquiao for a fight in April. Floyd fights in May.

Seriously, give it up. Bob Arum will not make that fight, period. The fact that anybody acts like Floyd or Manny have the power to make the fight is absolutely asinine. It is all about Bob Arum, who has control over Manny Pacquiao's career. Showtime has Floyd locked up in a contract, so all it takes from Arum is a phone call to Showtime and an offer.

And in regard to business: Bob Arum stands to make far more money by keeping Manny Pacquiao in the winners circle, than he does by risking another L against Mayweather. That is just a fact of life, money talks. Sure, he'd make a lot of money with that single fight, but that could be all she wrote for Pacquiao. If you're Bob Arum, why not just keep having him fighting and winning for as long as you can?

As soon as you look at the scenario from a business/money standpoint, you will understand why this fight has not been made, and will likely never be made. The only time I see this fight possibly being made is when Bob Arum feels Manny is used up and looking to cash him out. That time is not now, as Manny still has some gas in the tank.


That being said: I seriously doubt anything will be "final" by next week. They still have 6 months for the fight date, which means they can spend another solid month or so looking for an opponent to sign to a fight contract. Target date would be February to start the promotional tour I would imagine.
