I just read an article about a new mixed martial arts t.v. show called "Iron Ring" which came about through a collabo between UFC and BET. In the show different rappers lead different MMA fighters, to compete for $100,000. Mayweather and Rick Ross are leading a fighter together.. The show will come on BET. I'm not sure on all the specifics, but it seems like smart promotion for the UFC. In addition it sounds like a UFC pop version of The Contender.... But, this is gonna give the UFC a new audience, because Ludicris, nelly, T.I. and some other popular rappers right now are participating in the show. What do all of you think about this? Boxing needs to step it up....With MMA going to regular cable, Boxing needs to do the same, to prevent it from really losing appeal for not being as easily accessible. What about Mayweather? I thought he was trying to bring boxing back to the top? Money really means a lot to this cat...Get ya paper playa! I guess?
I had zero problem with the wrestling thing, its exposure for him and he gets to make some cash and have some fun. But this is the prime competitor of boxing.
man am I sick of MMA. I admit that I was a fan back in the days and when tito ortiz was the shits, but boy do I hate watching two guys in the missionary position, that move should be banned from MMA. I really like what oscar and leonard are doing to the sport of boxing and i guess mayweather is helping but hes doing to much for other sports
