Maidana wasn't just lunging in and bumrushing last night, he was actually using good footwork and ring smarts to get on the inside and make it awkward, he was even showing great defense and he was countering floyd a little, i think he would beat khan now.
I don't think Maidana will beat Khan now, for the same reason he didn't get the decision vs Floyd. Hand speed and crowd-pleasing punches. Maidana is better though, and was never really hurt by Floyd. Floyd landed the better punches, FLoyd is a better athlete than Maidana, but Maidana fought another competitive fight and at times had Floyd hurt. Lets review, he cut Floyd, he wobbled Floyd as the bell rang in one of the rounds. Maidana at times established the jab was hitting Floyd repeatedly. Maidana was still able to land those looping overhand rights with Floyd on the ropes. The punch stats weren't weren't that one sided. You have to note that it looked like Floyd's gloves were literally bigger and better shaped to land punches than Maidana. It wasn't quite as big of a difference as Yuri Foreman vs Miguel Cotto, but it was significant. Also Floyd didn't get weighed the day of the fight. Are we to assume that Floyd was much bigger on fight night than he's been in recent fights?
