Some folk have referred to speed (Khan in particular) being the biggest threat to Mayweather by jumping in and out with flurries but Mayweather showed he can adapt to this pretty quickly once he finds his range and then the flurries of punches suddenly stop.

Over the last few years, Mayweather's biggest troubles have come during the first half of the De La Hoya fight by way of openings created by well executed consistent jabs which found the target more than you'd expect watching it back and Mosely with his straight and looping rights in the 2nd round of their fight.

Brook definitely has the capability to open Mayweather up and there's a chance he could man handle Mayweather should Mayweather choose to clinch because Brook is the taller and naturally bigger and stronger fighter.

Even though Mayweather would obviously be the favourite, Brook will be at the top of the list of fights he doesn't need to take at this stage of his career for the above reasons.

I expect Garcia will get the fight.

Garcia is a good shout but Canelo and Cotto would surely make much more $$$$$$$$$

i think we need to calm down a bit over brook , im not convinced he is world class , the win over porter was very good i will admit that , but all his wins prior and past that have been easy fights , once he has thought some legitimate contenders we will know if he is the real deal or not .

at people saying im not convinced

and legitimate contenders your ignorance is funny

matt hatton , mike jennings , schenko and a few others aint world beaters but they are levels many levels above bum status and euro status

    decent decent wins

i remember hatton fighting ndou and people saying this would show matt is fringe world level etc etc

then i remember him making a good fight against alvarez oh he got props

same as jennings working his way to cottos mando position

schenko was beating paulie until the cut played its part

then people want to sh it on brook as he was not fast tracked but yet beat who as been put infront of him with easy

and just remember who was guiding brooks path from the from the off gtfoh

its like wine or whiskey the longer its left the better it is

Although I think Brook is the second best in the division, sadly he doesn't have the style to beat Mayweather. He isn't quick enough or attacking enough to make the difference. To stand a chance, you need to have outstanding attributes to beat or get close to Floyd. Floyd might have a few hairy moments, but he would beat him by UD of around 2-3 rounds.

However, I can see Kell beating everyone else in the WW division.

Agreed mate sure we all want him to step up the opposition now but lets face it he's done a job on people far more convincingly than other world class fighters. I think more people especially on here play Brook down rather than big him up to be honest. Take out Pacman & Mayweather I fancy him v anyone to be honest

Mayweather's retirement just came to early for Brook. I think he can beat everyone else in the division. He just needs big fights!
I think America has taken interest in him since the Porter fight and winning the IBF belt. He is getting mentioned by boxing journalists and reporters in the states

Yeah he's definitely much more known amongst boxing fans in the states, personally do think this is a goer as Khan isn't anywhere near as big as some people seem to think he is

    Decent wins?? Looool casuals 😂😂😂😂

He's 29 years old, 35 fights, a world champion with two title defences.

His ONLY decent win is Porter ffs

Khans CV despite being younger & less fights is far far superior to that of Brooks. You can't even compare the two!

Casuals are a funny breed 😭

I think Brook could give Floyd trouble because he has an excellent jab, timing and size. Also Mayweather, while still an exceptional fighter, is well past his best. It would certainly be an interesting fight and I'd give Brook the best chance of the 147 fighters.

However I can't see this fight happening. Kell is just short a couple of big name wins to really make a claim for Floyd. That is what disappointed me most about him taking the Gavin fight and helping out Eddie, if he had taken Rios instead and then beat a Bradley/Marquez/Thurman around Xmas time, he would have a great shot at getting Mayweather next May. Unfortunately that timeline is now delayed and I feel Floyd will be gone just before Brook reaches the summit.

I would argue that only a casual fan (or many of the idiots on the general forum)would describe Porter as Brook's only decent win.

A devout boxing fan who watches the game at all levels realises what different fighters bring to the ring and don't just rate non - world class fighters as bums. They also realise at what stage of Brook's development that he was in when he took on these so called "bums".
