Gavin Rees was world champion ffs You think that's the be end of end all? 😂😂😂😂 Now that I've exposed you AGAIN humble yourself
Name me another WORLD CLASS/LEVEL fighter on his CV & prove me wrong... You can't hence your post is garbage
I wasn't talking about world class fighters. I was talking about decent wins, which was in response to your previous post I quoted. If we are talking about world level fighters, then obviously Khan has the more impressive resume. However, I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about what I regard as a decent win, which is characterised by the opponent, the opponents style and the stage of their respective careers of the two participating fighters. People make out that all's that matters is world class opponents. To discount lesser fighters on a boxers resume, especially in the early parts of their careers, is doing a disservice to these lesser fighters and also missing the point in what these fights represent. Khan may have done more in less time than Brook, however, I think it is safe to say that if we compare Brook now with the Khan that beat Kotelnik, Brook is clearly the more rounded and better fighter. Mathew Hatton, Carson Jones, Michael Jennings, Senchenko, Saldiva, Ndou and Jackiewicz are all better and have a greater variety of styles than a washed up and fat Barrera, a washed up St Clair and a washed up Gomez. Khan's pre-world champion career was carefully constructed to give him all the stylistic advantages in his bouts. Brook's was set up to give him a look at different styles and build a fighter who A) could win a world title, and, more importantly B) hold on to that title. Are these wins better than Khan's wins over Maidana, Judah, malignaggi, etc? Of course not. But, what these wins allowed Brook to do was to hone his craft and when the time comes to fight a genuine world level champion, to get the win. This is why I am saying it is to easy and naïve to brush over pre-world title shot and sub world level opponents. These guys make you the fighter you will become. If Khan had had the level of apprenticeship that Brook had had then he wouldn't still have many of the flaws that have been with him his entire career and he probably would not have lost to Garcia or Peterson. Another way of looking at it - take bias away. Khan v Brook is a 50/50 fight. Yet, if Khan has a superior resume (and he does at world level), how is this a potential 50/50 fight? Khan should wipe the floor with much less experienced (at world level) Brook.
^ bingo we have a winner :yep some one finally gets it fail to prepare , prepare to fail which khan as done when its mattered brook completed his apprenticeship with flying colours as khan is still stuck with his amateur style and just cannnot adapt :yep
Come on Ash, agree with most of your stuff but this love for Brook I can't understand. I'm not saying Khan is great either but surely you must admit Brook still has a lot to prove
sure he still as alot to prove but he as more tools in his tool box than khan fast tracked as not boded well for khan or his longevity imo we will see weather the slow road moving up through the levels one at a time will stand brook in good stead or not :yep
I would prefer to see the Khan fight, I don't think he beats him but it is the most interesting fight out there and I think that Khan is the only fighter that could get himself ahead on the cards at some point. I think Khan would be up at the midway point with Mayweather come back and accumulating the rounds towards the end to win a close but comfortable decision. I don't think Brook would be a good fight at the minute, he lacks variety and Mayweather find that quite easy to deal with in my opinion, Brook probably beats all the other Welterweights out there, and I think he should go another route, maybe ending 2016 with a 'unification' with Thurman.
i don't give a Sh*t about khan I think he is just as overrated as brook. No probs your a brook supporter but he has to beat a top 5 in his division to be given any credit surely. shows what a bad state boxing in when he is world champ and only beaten 1 top 10 guy in the weight class. Im not trolling either as i think brook has massive potential Im just saying he has way more to prove.
that argument is so old and boring it is unreal.... Brook has fought a similar level of opponent to GGG ,mainly b level fighters but would you say GGG is pants? when Brook fights anyone better he will beat them as well
Most people would class porter as b level and the last 2 brook openets have c- at best brook has been a pro 10+ years surely he must be himself pushed for better oppents
what makes it worse is his fans who are blinded by the 0......you have to be really dumb to think he has a good record.......he has one of the worst resumes i have seen for a fighter with a belt...... his last 2 title defenses have also come against tomato cans and he's looking to fight a punching bag equipped with pillow gloves for his next fight i dont know how you can get behind this rubbish
