If Garcia had carried his 2013 momentum into 2014, he could have been in the running. But since losing (getting a gift) vs Herrera and fighting a nobody in Salka, both at 140, it'd be surprising and disappointing if he fought Garcia next.
Garcia beats Brook everyday of the week. Garcia can fight hard for 12 rounds unlike Brook, he is at the elite level. How good is Brook we don't know yet, he went life and death with Jones, beat Matthew Hatton and beat the man who's biggest win was over Malignaggi the boxer/commentator. Garcia knocked Khan out, had a FOTY with Matthysee the man of the division and solid wins over Holt,Judah,Morales(shot I know). People judge him on his performance over Herrera yet forget about Jones smashing Brook in his hometown for 6-7 rounds. I hope Brook turns out to be a true champ but I think Hearn will milk his title. He is already looking to fight JMM the guy will be 41/42 and is much smaller than Brook. Brook v Bradley would be a good fight, if he won that I would start to believe in him a bit more.
Garcia has NO advantages over Floyd, so how the hell will he beat him. Stylistically he brings nothing to the table. He isn't the quickest at LWW and at WW he will get slower. He has one powerful left hook that will get easily nullified by Floyd and he is of similar size and shorter reach. Couple that with decent but not spectacular hand speed, it would be a near shutout for Floyd. Kell on the other hand is bigger, more powerful and more skilled than Garcia. If they were to fight right now in WW, it would be a UD or KO for Kell. Garcia won't be anything special at WW, that's why they are waiting for the dream Floyd ticket and cash in before his 0 disappears before he faces any of the top WWs.
Brook is miles ahead of Alexander in every department clear as day if you can't see that watch a different sport.
