Think Mayweather will get a little shock tomorrow. I expect some more minor atrophy from him with yet another year break and with him being 36, and Guerrero will surprise him with his adaptability. Rugged, agricultural adaptability. Also Mayweather will be taken aback at the gumption of the man; the complete lack of regard for his talent. All this may work against Guerrero (provoke Mayweather) but it could also pay off big time.

I didnt think much of it TBH mate. All the usual stuff, same as 24/7 really. Floyd being his usual self, the opponents talk about family and how Floyd is a bad example etc etc

Anyone know where to watch the weigh in live?

Ghost by SD / UD. Father time catches up with Floyd.

Should be noted that i had money on Audley last week so my opinion matters not a jot.

Just watched the weigh in, Guerrero is up for this, he is going to give it his all, you can be sure about that. It should be a good fight and although I think Mayweather prevails on points, could this be the first fight in which an aging Mayweather visits the canvas?

Mayweather knocked down and wins fight 7/1 with Skybet.:think

Have avoided commenting on this thread as I can't make my mind up. Guerrero has been too easy to hit in his fights but he's not as dumb as he sounds and I think he has it in him to be smarter. Still it's difficult to see him having the physical tools not to get tagged by Mayweather once Mayweather finds his range. Then again Guerrero can hussle but has the levers to box longer than that too, and if anybody is gonna trouble Mayweather it's going to be a southpaw.

It's whether Guerrero is too straight forward a southpaw is the question. Keep seeing Mayweather getting tagged more often than he used to in the Cotto fight, and Guerrero is a tough customer who isn't going to be overawed. At the same time his shots are the ones that are gonna be telegraphed so he's gonna be open to Mayweather when he misses if he wings them in like he has been doing.

So I'd normally say quite a messy UD or split to Mayweather, but got a gut feeling about Guerrero somehow. Also, a guy who I usally talk to about sports betting has steamed into Guerrero. He's the kind of annoying fecker who's had a rather substantial wager on Dortmund for the champions league since before the season started. **** it I don't see Guerrero being given a decision and Mayweather gets old overnight, so it's a Guerrero TKO 11. No money going on that tho!

BIG shout! But, you never know, it is all the more intriguing now that Mayweather's age is catching up on him. I remember reading Sugar Ray Robinson's book and he stressed the single most important ingredient for a boxer, especially a skilled fighter like Robinson, is rythmn. When he entered fights after his prime and picked up a loss or put in an under par performance he stated that he had no spring in his step, he didnt feel like he had his usual 'rythmn'. You could infer skilled and reflexive fighter like Mayweather who relies on his quick head, body and hand movement, will need to preserve his 'rythmn if he is to continue to deploy his high standards.

The other thing that I find interesting is that Mayweather has openly revealed in All Access that he needs to tighten up his defence, he took too many shots off Cotto and his father said the same. All fighters, no matter how good, even Muhammad Ali, have held private insecurities about their performance. I remember reading something Budd Schulberg wrote about Ali, that he was seeking assurances off his trainer Angelo Dundee in a taxi in New York after attending to media commitments, that he will beat his opponent. Despite Mayweather's public persona, there has to be some private doubts or concerns that he could slip further in his next fight and that he has still 'got it'. Finally, Mayweather hasnt fought in a year, that's not ideal either.

    We will see.

Exactly the same here mate, so just gonna sit back and enjoy the fight. What I will say is this, I'm giving Guerrero way more of a chance than some people are. The southpaw stance is gonna be very awkward for Floyd, especially when you think about the shoulder roll. I actually think Floyd will get tagged a few times in this fight. Guerrero is faster and stronger than people give him credit for and he is younger than Floyd. My only hope is that Guerrero doesn't bite like all the rest, and fights a disciplined controlled smart multi-functional 12 round fight. However, I've noticed that the closer the fight has gotten, the more excited he has got....and his dad.

I predicted a Mayweather win by KO months ago, something like the 8 round and in theory, Guerrero being to excited could back that prediction even more up. It may be a poker face, I don't know. But if he fights a clever fight, I honestly think he can take Mayweather all the way and win on points. Guerrero will be busy all night long, and he will get a few rounds by outworking a low output/volume Floyd. I've got a sneaky feeling Guerrero will be able to get Mayweather like in the 2nd round against Shane Mosley.

Guerrero has got an awkward southpaw stance, Floyd will have to adjust his shoulder roll to the right, bare in mind he is used to using the left shoulder to neutralize a fighters right hand and counter with the left. Floyd is way smart enough to adjust, of course, but I can see Guerrero landing with that straight left a couple times.

But I still think Mayweather will make him miss a ton and just smile back, laughing down at Guerrero and his efforts to hit him. I feel Guerrero will get angrier and angrier, and start making more mistakes, Mayweather will capitalize in the later rounds.

But I'm not gonna hang my neck on the line with a prediction. All I will say is this, if Guerrero fights the fight he has talked about in the build up, he has a massive chance. He knows how smart Mayweather is, and has admitted he will need to have multiple parts to his own game, and be able to adjust when Floyd does. That is crucial to beating Floyd. Its a game of chess, when he moves, you move. To many fighters get trapped in the spell and dont adjust, they become predictable, and Mayweather takes full advantage.

So it appears Guerrero knows what to do, but knowing and doing are two different things, can he do what he knows inside? That is the question!

Is the bravado actually just a poker face, or is the moment getting to Guerrero?

If Guerrero comes in for a toe to toe and an inside fight like against Berto. I think he gets beat quite badly.

We'll certainly know in the first few rounds if Guerrero can pull it of or not.

    Great stuff in this thread.

I've loved this fight since day one , & I've always thought Guererro will push Floyd to the brink. It's general math.

Floyd is 36, past is prime + Guerrero is 29, in his prime = ???

Add in Floyd's inactivity, Guerrero's southpaw style & you have another interesting equation to add to the mix. I've mentioned a few times that I see this being very similar to Hatton v Mayweather, albeit Guerrero is better than Hatton & 2013 Floyd isn't as good as the 07 version.

I can't pick against Floyd, but a big part of me wants to call this in Guerrero's favour. One thing for sure, if Floyd does win this I won't be shitting on the Ghost.. This is a real tough fight for Floyd

Ghost needs to pin Floyd onto the ropes and keep the fight dirty, Floyd would of been working on avoiding the straight left hand for sure, pin Floyd and try hurting his body..

If Ghost can manage this then he has a chance, we don't know but age could catch up with Floyd anytime.

Good points, but will Guerrero be allowed to rough up Floyd? Remember Hatton trying to fight on the inside and Cortez repeatedly broke it up, I wonder who the ref is tonight? I know two out of the three judges are from Vegas, so Guerrero is not getting a points win, no matter what he does. Vegas money talks as does a record breaking TV deal with Showtime.
