Interesting thing here if Ghost gets a points the rematch would be even a bigger PPV and money spinner so anything can happen tonight, Ghost was aloud to ruff up and beat up Berto on the ropes, let see if the ref allows that tonight.

I know people are looking forward to this more on the basia that Floyd is older and may have lost a bit of his magic but even if this is proven to be true, I don't think Guerrero is good enough to capitalise on that.

He's always been a decent fighter with the ability to change up his style but never special at anything. I'll be watching but I'm not expecting much from The Ghost.

Yeah it's that slight unknown factor you refer to with Mayweather right now. I mentioned about Mayweather 'getting old overnight', but if he did age in this fight then it wouldn't technically be overnight as it's a year since he fought now. I think Guerrero knows he is unlikely to get a decision in this fight so if he hasn't imposed his game by the time of the championship rounds then he'll go for it. And if that's the case we'd probably be more likely to see a late Mayweather stoppage as Guerrero leaves himself wide open. That's why I'm looking forward to this one far more than Mayweather's recent fights.

Great post that was mate. Yeah the thing about Guerrero getting too worked up is interesting, especially after the weigh-in yesterday. Guerrero certainly seemed hyped for it while Mayweather took it all in his stride in the manner you'd expect. As you say, if Guerrero walks in there in a mindless pumped up fashion then Mayweather's gonna be very happy, and so will those saying Mayweather has an easy night's work ahead of him. But I don't think he will be that mindless hopefully, and the orthodox-southpaw factors you mention can come into play then.

I've always felt the same about picking against Mayweather, and remember he's been picking his opponents carefully for some time no matter what he says about this being a mandatory. So he clearly fancies the Guerrero job. But then I changed my mind at the last minute and can't go back on it now! lol

Checking my Direct TV for the PPV tonight and the Showtime pre-fight show starts at 12 midnight UK time.
It's called "May Day Live" and runs till 2.15 UK time.

The undercard is pretty awesome actually so maybe an all nighter might be an option for you guys!

Hatton was fighting like a spastic and his arms were too short so he it was easier for Mayweather to swat his arms aside and tie him up. Also as Malignaggi said Hatton was smothering his own work and not leaving enough room to throw shots, and was almost asking to be tied up because he just wanted to survive. Guerrero has more range and will make sure he doesn't get to close.

Will Mayweather switch southpaw in this fight?

If he doesn't start southpaw, I got a feeling after 2 or 3 rounds of feeling Guerrero out, he will switch unexpectedly. I don't think Guerrero will expect or have trained for that. Guerrero's camp would of been all about landing the lunging straight left hand as much as possible and then pressing inside throwing punches in bunches to head and body. Trying to take Cotto's gameplan to the next level.

Of course, it would be expected for Guerrero to land that left occasionally if Floyd fights his natural orthodox. However, he can neutralize that best punch by switching southpaw himself and using his jab arm/shoulder (the right as a southpaw and his preferred defence) to roll the punches (the left hand of Guerrero) as he would do if he was fighting an orthodox as an orthodox himself, to neutralize the right hand with his left shoulder, the main punch. He will be able to reverse that stance and in doing so, shut of the left hand of Guerrero with the right shoulder.

We have seen Floyd switch southpaw during fights. Its in the locker. He is that good. Its kind of like Ronnie O'Sullivan, right and left handed, however which way you want it, he will give it to you. These are geniuses.

If he stays orthodox, he is open down the pipe and down the middle for the left hand. (Look at how Guerrero lands it consistently and early on against Berto. Stunning Berto from range.)

With Floyd talking about not getting hit as much and tightening up defence again. If you ask me, his best bet of not taking punches in this fight against the southpaw Guerrero, is to fight in the same stance. Floyd likes to mini-feint a right hand (as an orthodox) encourage the right hand and the opponent to commit to it, shoulder roll with the left shoulder, parry the punch, and then come straight back with the angled and disguised right hand.

You see, Guerrero will be looking to land the straight left more so than the right, so I reckon we'll see Floyd switch southpaw to neutralize the straight left, and come back with a left himself. For me thats common sense, if he flips his game (and he can) he can still shine whilst discarding Guerrero's obvious danger punch.

If he finishes this fight, and Guerrero rushes in like a mad dog, he does it with the left hand IMO. IF he switches southpaw. :deal

The closer the fight gets, the more I have a feeling that Floyd lights Guerrero up and puts a beating on him, stopping him late. I've always thought Floyd would would a clear UD but now I think a show piece performance from Mayweather is coming.

    Mayweather TKO11.

Where are people getting this **** about the shoulder roll and southpaws?
It makes no ****ing difference, the right glove is up to protect against the left.
The reason he got hit more v Judah early was simply hand speed.
In anycase, Guerrero is physically inferior to Floys, and technically it's no contest.
The ghosts getting stopped after a beating.

Mayweather has looked ponderous against southpaws in the past. He figures them out, but the different look leaves him a little off-balance at first. That was the one thing Ortiz had going for him early on - Floyd was trying to judge the distance on his right hand.
