In a live chat I once asked Maywether if he would fight hopkins at 154 and he said he would fight anyone from 154 down.

How would you see a match with Mayweather and Hopkins at 154?

I've always wondered how Mayweather would deal with a fighter in the EXACT same mould has Hopkins at 147. I mean you take Hopkins, and shrink him to 147 (taking with him all his attributes).

Hopkins at 160lbs beats Mayweather comfortably.

A 147lb version of Hopkins? Really intruiging fight, I think.

In what way may I ask?

One of the most potent weapons Mayweather has above is opponents, is his ability to out-think and out-smart is opponents. There has never been anyone to step in the ring with Mayweather, who has fought more intelligently.

Would he be able to do this against B-Hop? I'm not so sure. B-Hop is equally as smart as Floyd in the ring.

Bhop got down to 156 for Oscar right? Maybe a good few years ago this could have been made :)

I think B-Hop has more ring smarts, is a great defensive fighter and is very tough.

I can't see Floyd hurting him, but I could see Floyd winning on points or B-Hop by TKO.

As a matter a fact, since B-Hop is likely on his way out, he should consider dropping to that weight and having Oscar set that fight up.

Would be a gigantic PPV event.

Hopkins by thrashing if he can make the weight comfortably.

Hopkins by thrashing on a prime-for-prime, pound-for-pound basis, too.

Don't think so Floyd is cut from the same cloth defensively as Pep, Benitez and Whitaker. And in terms of ring smarts no way, Floyd fights guys differently where as Hopkins fights everyone in almost the same manner. The last time Hopkins fought someone differently was Pavlik, but Winky, Tarver, Calzaghe, Ornelas he fought practically the same way. Floyd used the jab heavily against Marquez, used it mainly in the 9th round against Hatton, used right hand leads against Baldomir and Judah and maybe used it once against Oscar.
