Thanks to a glorified sparring session that was passed for an actual fight between 'Money' and a 38 year old man strongly resembling someone I used to know as 'Sugar', us non-'*****s' have had to endure the endless ramblings of 'I told you so' and further diarrhea of the mouth by this annoying mob.

Now, I'm no Mayweather 'hater'--actually, I appreciate his skill quite a lot; he's just not my type of fighter--but I'm tired of seeing him in 'asterisk' fights. I won't fault him as much for this last fight, as we--OK, maybe just me-- were all duped that Mosley had more than enough left in that 38 year old body to at least make it interesting. In fact, as the fight neared I even picked 'Sugar'--by KO/TKO no less! (Yes, I know, I don't know ****! Blah Blah Blah...)

After watching the fight--and by watching, I mean, staying awake--Mayweather clearly dominated, sans the second and maybe the first, and it is obvious that he still retains excellent speed, reflexes, and ring smarts. However, I'm hesitant in buying this performance, and not because Mosley is old. I'm not convinced because he was in with a man who simply did not throw punches and get off first. What I am convinced of now is that Mayweather has: (a) lost a step; (b) an average-to-weak chin; (c) little-to-no power; and (d) very little head movement.

Regardless of how one feels about Margarito, I don't think anyone in the division presents more of a stylistic problem for Floyd. Not Manny, not Sergio, not Paul, not Andre. Each have something to offer in a fight with Floyd: Pac's speed and non-stop unorthodox punches , Sergio's size and skills, Paul's freakish physical attributes and volume punching, and Andre's youth and speed. But it's hard to envision 'Money' not being able to solve each of their respective 'problems'. (And still, I'd love to see each of these fight!)

What Tony's style presents is the strategy of seek and destroy. There's no pretension in his game. Do you think he's even aware of a game called chess? You will never hear in his corner someone saying to him "Stay intellectual", a la Brother Naziim. No, Margarito is going to pound and pound away at every square inch of you until you either crumble or you do something about it. Mosley did something about it. He hit him with everything but the kitchen sink for every minute of every round and the man didn't fall--not convincingly, at least to my eyes--until the ninth. Do you honestly think that May has the power and balls to do that with his brittle and little hands?

He's going to outbox him, you say? Margo won't land anything on Floyd, you say? I agree with Freddy and others who've remarked that 'Money' just doesn't have 12 round legs anymore. And so, if you don't have the punch (like Mosley) to keep Tony honest, you're not gonna keep him off of you (right, Miguel Angel and Kermit?)

Is it possible that Margarito, who had the worse night of his career against the best night of Mosley's career, beats Mayweather, who's best night of his career came against the worst night of Mosley's career?

    I say yes!

I don't see any way Margarito beats Mayweather. I'd actually be more interested in Margarito fight Pacquiao if I weren't opposed to him getting such a big payday straight away.

Love the fight myself......Floyd would win but it would be pretty exciting. It's a great match up of styles.

This thread should be considered for the most idiotic thread of the day. Margarito is slow, with no skills. Mayweather would beat him easier than Mosley. It would be one of the easiest wins of his career. Maragrito presents no challenges to Mayweather whatsoever.

JLC was slower and didn't have much skills that could compete with Floyd...yet he did. Ricky too. Sure they both lost but those were some of Floyd's most exciting fights. Marg would be no different....EXCITING. Floyd has been critized for not being in exciting fights. It's a good win and it would give fans what they want and Floyd would still be undefeated.

yes...this is the fight i want to see....margs throwing wide windmill punches while standing flat footed in front of floyd...trying his hardest to cut off the ring on the best fighter in the world

you yourself dont even believe this....i hate to sound cliche....but if this fight were to happen...after the fight youd be "defanging" margs all day on here and complaining that floyd took this fight....its a joke....theres no reason for floyd to fight that bum unless that bum beats pac in november

You're tired of Mayweather fighting 'asterisk' fights but want him to fight Margarito? After all the "did-he-have-loaded-gloves-in-all-his-wins" suspicions?

    Right.

First the JLC fight was 8 years ago, and Floyd schooled him in the rematch when he was healthy. And Ricky is much quicker, especially his footspeed than Margarito. Marg would look like an amateur against Mayweather. Plus nobody wants to see it. Marg lost his appeal after he got raped by Mosley, and people would just complain about Mayweather for fighting him.

Margo is shot he cant win without the bricks on his gloves, he'll get beat just like mosley beat him and then we have to hear all the floyd nuthuggers going crazy on the board. Floyd needs to fight williams, sergio, pacquiao, or tim bradley

    :hat

It's possible...I'm not saying Floyd couldn't school Marg. I'm just saying Marg is NOT easily deterred and that's is HUGE if fighting Floyd. He will eat leather and try to cut the ring off and continue to be relentless. Just look at all the **** Shane winged at him and he kept coming .....any other fighter would have been out in two round with that kind of punishment....Marg would make for an exciting fight. I don't think most would complain about Floyd fighting Marg at all. It's a great WW fight.

I'd like to see this fight also, but only if Margo is allowed to use loaded gloves

    I dont think so.
Margarito is just too slow. If he was a faster fighter then he could stand a chance but he is not fast enough and his footwork is terrible. PBF would pot shot him to death. Well not death but i mean he would hit him alot.
