Although I was pissed to not see these too extremely quick fighters fight at the lower weight class Mosley deserved the shot. He was suppose to been were he was. Vernon Forrest stoped that. Reason why Mosley fought in the lower weight to begin with. (to avoid forrest) best management move by his dad ever in boxing. but shane fought him anyway? light years later. If he hung with you in the Olympics he probaly has your number check your boxing history this is true,.

all in all i cant knock mosley for not fighting floyd to chase the money floyd was a high risk and extremely low reward
i remember when floyd was making $2,500 per fight and oscar was making $20,000 !
All roads to richest lead to the golden boy

he had it in the bag as long as he aint let mosley throw that leaping left hook to the body Mayweather is exceptional but mosley made to many of those little guys take a knee off that punch. And Floyd was a very little guy, he really just came up for money not because he was getting bigger

Not saying Floyd couldnt weather it Just saying

mayweather at that point wasn't as defensive minded as to when he got up to WW. mosley at 135 easily matched floyd speed wise and power wise the much harder puncher. it would of been a hell of a fight, but the only fighters mosley lost too were much bigger than him, had very good jabs, and with the exception of Winky, were hard punchers. so if castillo wrecked havoc for floyd, i could imagine mosley outworking him, slow floyd down, and walking threw floyd's best punches. it would be a nightmare for floyd. mosley other than duran was one of the most aggressive lightweights ever.

When this fight was first rumoured, Floyd was still at 130 and wanted to move up to make the fight. At that point I favoured him - he looked unbeatable at the time. However, I was never really impressed with him at lightweight - he just didn't seem like the same fighter to me. Although Shane's competition at 135 was pretty poor, he just looked like the better fighter at that weight.

If the fight were to happen now, I'd take Floyd but at 135 I'll take Shane.

How many fights did Floyd have at 35? Less than the fingers i have on my hand. Posters here have such short memories. Shane had a near on 100% KO ratio at 35. He was a complete animal at the weight and lightening fast. You best believe Floyd would be in a fight and wouldnt have the fire power to trouble Shane. Shane was always able to bully fighters with his power boxing style at the lower weight. Shane by KO.

Mosley was already gaining his fanbase and considered one of the very best. He was in line for Oscar after Tito moved up. The man has always shown balls bigger than brains, but that's cause he's a FIGHTER first and wants to PROVE he deserves to be considered one of the best. Taking on guys like Forrest and Wright were great for the sport and put other guys in the light where they deserved. Too many guys don't get shots and deserve it, so many guys have the audience but abuse it. He could of easily took easier fights for the same moneyt and waited for other big money fights to come along.

****, Oscar was the main attraction in his debut. The last fighter to get a major network push.
