Of course. But I dont see how people are money hungry to spend 65$ for a PPV. Money is tight, and 65$ is a lot. Luckily it was my birthday a few days after the fight.

I thought it was $55? Irrelevant anyways.

Lucky for me my whole family are boxing fans, in the UK ppv is only £15(about $30), split that into 3-4 people and not bad at all! Boxing ppv would be much bigger in the UK if the fights didnt take place at bloody 4.00am!!!

1.2 is not the official number please STOP parroting that around as it's set in stone. It isn't.

The fight will do very good numbers but unfortunately GREEDY BOY PROMOTIONS along with Top Rank will NOT learn their lessons.

Both companies could nearly double their buy rates if they adapted their PPViews to the current landscape and even offered an ONLINE only package.

The technology is there for both of these companies to not only do it online (at a cheaper rate than a full scale PPV) securely, they're just content using an old business model.

As far as who's the bigger draw, that debate is useless because people won't use facts to make their cases and go off their biases..

65 for HD version, and quite a bit of people are rocking HD now.

I had 2 friends over for the fight, but they bought the food and the beer.

So it worked out, plus I bought a shitty 12 pack of tecate to get the rebate.

The greedy promoters are cashing in on the hard core fans. A lot of people don't have money to buy the PPVs that are more than 50$ and use some illegal streams to watch the fights or don't watch em at all. If they put prices around 20-30 a lot more people will be willing and ABLE to buy them legally. And boxing will be back on the mainstream in a way

**** if they did 35 / 45 for HD. So many more people would buy PPVs.

That also needs to be factored in, the HD cost as well.

Because I won't order a PPV unless its HD now.

Someone needs to speak about this. I work for a Satellite company (I still have to pay for PPViews). The fight is being shot with HD cameras and being transmitted on an HD signal. Yet the sat companies (comcast doesn't offer it in HD. Not sure about Time Warner) allocate two channels (one standard def and one hd ) for this.

The point is that their price gouging for the HD signal when it's already being sent out as such. I wish someone would point this out to the companies and fine them for this practice.

They do this also with the NFL Game Ticket. Again, the game comes on FREE in HD but if you're out of market they take on something extra for this. Surely some consumer agency could see this is wrong..

sur[rising. i thought it would do 2 . i ll wait to get an official report though, i dunno how iole can get that figure this early after 3 days, when it takes over a week to accurately count. he must know something schafer dosent.

its a shame, cos thatsa good figure, 1.3 or around. its just richard set up expetations too high. not goo imagewise if it dosent live up to it, had he said 1 million is goood, which it is, itd be considered a success.
