People on other forums still debate that Floyd was close to losing this round before the headbutt and that he was mainly catching Ortiz's gloves at the beginning of the round. What do people think when you watch it in slow motion? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pcBi5vxF7o&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
Nope he wasn't in the round very much. Mayweather had the higher output, the higher connect percentage, the cleaner more effective work was coming from him, he was in control of the ring and pace of the round for 95% of it. Ortiz backed Mayweather up effectively once, and even then he only landed 1 or 2 clean blows, and the rest were glancing at best. Then came the headbutt. Clear Mayweather round before the point deduction.
Ortiz didn't win the round. I always notice how much Mayweather actually used the jab on Ortiz whenever I watch this fight in slow mo.
Ortiz touched him with a good right hook right before the headbutt happened. This could have been a great fight had it lasted longer.
Ortiz was pressuring and was busting void. Void didnt want any of that...hence a get out clause. Cheap shot TKO.
i still dont understand people who claim that this could have been a great fight and ortiz didnt get his time to come on against floyd floyd was ****in dominating a 165 southpaw.....he was outclassing him....vic was so ****in frustrated that he just couldnt push floyd back and hit him .....he was already mentally broken 4 rounds through.....it would have gotten worse for him... same people probably think margarito would have had a chance in the cotto rematch had he been allowed to continue...lol....there wasnt anything happening in the rest of floyd/ortiz that was gonna be any different.....just like there wouldnt have been anythign any different in the last 2 rounds of the cotto/margs rematch
wheres the one from round 2 where ortiz has floyd against the ropes and tries to bring a big left ...floyd just rolls it and counters with a right hand on the button
This content is protected my favorite punch of the fight. very difficult maneuver to do but was an effortless example. slaughtered all those idiots that said the shoulder roll can't be used against southpaws especially their left hands
