Ortiz is a headbutting cheat. If you watch his fights he always bleeds from the top of his head because he headbutts that much. Yes this was a 10-8 round before the KO, had he gotten up then 10-7.
Obvious to me. Floyd won bysucker punch. He was winning the fight up to that point. But I thought Ortiz was fighting a great fight up to that point. Using lateral movements, Attacking in Bursts. He was losing, because floyd is the better boxer. But Ortiz had some good moments. Personally I don't blame floyd for sucker punching because he had just been head butted. But in my mind, there is an aterix over that win. Because this is a sport, and winning by a sucker punch, does not prove that you would have won the fight had it gone the full 12. We can't blame floyd, but at the same time, he never beat ortiz in a boxing match that night in my book. He just out cheated him.
Funny how boxing fans always have their own scorecard after a fight believing that only their scorecard is correct, yet compubox numbers are considered fact and never taken into doubt:rofl Those numbers are only counted by some ****o's too mr., you might wanna count them yourself to be sure. Ah no, too much work eh? :yep
I just don't see the point in these slow mo points people bring up, they aren't really relevant. It's like when people say, "I have watched the whole twelve rounds of the bout in slow mo, my scoring is perfect", etc. If boxing was meant to be seen in slow motion, boxers would fight in slow motion. If boxing judges were meant to score the bout in slow motion, they would watch the bout afterwards in slow motion and score it then. Same goes for this, in real time, things happen in boxing that are unintentional, but look intentional in slow motion. Slow motion means **** all. ARE YOU MENTALLY ******ED? Slomo captures things tough to catch at fullspeed due to angles or whatever. If it clearly shows what happens on slomo, guess what? IT REALLY HAPPENED. holy fuk.
The only combination Ortiz landed was the one that ended in a headbutt. He was getting outboxed that round and it frustrated him. If he hadn't thrown that headbutt he might have been able to work his way in.
Do you? 10-8 would have been the correct score after the point deduction and before the KO assuming Mayweather would have won the round. :deal
I agree with the first half of your post...the 2nd half I disagree :hat IMO he threw the headbutt because he knew there was no getting in. Come on this kid was on the way to getting more frustrated and beat up. There was nothing in those first few rounds that indicated to me Ortiz would have any success in the fight. People always say it takes Mayweather a couple of rounds to figure a guy out. This was the 4th round and Ortiz was already figured out. He was frustrated he was getting hit every time he tried his 1 dimensional attack.
Mayweather dominated Ortiz and the "sucker punches" were after the ref said "lets go" but apparently haters ignore those facts. Floyd wasn't "untouchable", Ortiz caught him a few times but most of those punches didn't land ala Cazaghe against Hopkins but Ortiz wasn't as ineffective as Calzaghe and threw like a man lol. People fall for aggression and I understand watching a fight in the arena you get only one angle opposed to watching it from multiple angles on your phone or your couch watching tv. Can't believe people thinking throwing punches count, it's about ring generalship and effective landed punches.
