Floyd still outboxes him to a points win. I think what makes this fight dangerous is Pac would probably land something significant which might be enough to swing the fight in his favor. Who knows? Pac had enough of a problem with JMM in his prime (whom one could argue lost one or two fights due to bad scoring). Pac would have more of a problem with a prime Floyd.
It goes down like this: Pacquiao passes on the March offer and fights Clottey instead while Floyd faces Mosley in May.
The fact that many people think that Pacquiao could even be competitive against Mayweather shows that Pacquiao is the better p4p fighter. I mean Rigo moved up just 2 weight classes and couldn't even lay a glove on Loma. And Pac started at Flyweight and people give him a chance against Mayweather at 147? Its unreal. Pac wouldnt even need to win the fight to prove who is better p4p. It's like Duran running Hagler semi close. Yes Hagler won the fight, but could anybody possibly dispute who showed themself as the better fighter pound for pound.
He was ranked 5th or 6th at the time. Definitely a good opponent. He had just beaten Cotto on a lot of peoples' scorecards, losing by no more than one point on everyone else's.
In 2010 odds were 60/40 PAC would win. His volume punching and odd angles would find holes in and overwhelm May's defense. Plus, 2010 PAC had a speed edge that would really trouble May.
pacquiao uses workrate to convince fans he won a close fight but gets robbed by the judges and floyd gets a landslide victory
