True- I think these reports of Boxnation bidding higher than Sky are wide of the mark given that in its existence Boxnation has spent around £35 million on programming/production. The longer the without an announcement however.
It will be Sky 100% I just cannot see BN affording it and BT just no, cant see it. Sky are huge, they are one of the biggest broadcasting companies in the world. If they want it, theyll get it, and theyll obviously want it. The only question is, will it be PPV? I think it will be but it depends on what they are doing about the o2 show. They wont have 2 PPVs in month and obviously Pac/May is the bigger show so my guess is the o2 wont be PPV and May/Pac will be.
That is standard PPV price nowadays However i think they could maybe increase to £20/£25 at a push for this but really, chances are theyll keep it the same, even for something like this.
Wouldn't be shocked if they did some deal where the O2 show and this are £20 but you can get both for £30/£35
A Sky Sports Manager who drinks in our pub in Hammersmith. Excellent source of reliable information and he has given the nod. There is no doubt this fight is on Sky Box Office and will be announced next week.
I hate watching gullible people being ripped off. (eg The 'Home of Boxing' had a two bob US bout last night while the Braehmer fight is Live on Sky) It is absolutely comical that people are still discussing whether the biggest boxing fight for years will be on the tiny tinpot Boxnation channel. Check through the thread when I first posted that Big Abdul gave the nod. :happy Boxnation is an irrelevance. atsch
I'm not saying it's right, but at end of day even if it was £60 £80 we'd still pay it ! They know it's unmissable they can pretty much charge what they want.
No chance. Sky will be relying on drawing in casuals who will have heard about the fight but not necessairly guaranteed to buy the fight. If they are quoted silly prices like you suggest then the vast majority will no doubt take a pass on it and will catch the result in the morning. I certainly wont be paying anything more then £25 - I will watch it another way if thats the case as many will and sky know this too.
