I think Mayweather has the style, skill and brain to totally outbox Pacquiao i think with his accuracy he'd be able to catch him all night the only chance Pacquiao has to win the fight is on his workrate imo

Pac has the toughness, stamina and footspeed to chase Floyd all night.

Floyd may be slightly more accurate but his workrate leads a lot to be desired. He likes to coast back to the ropes ad find combination punching hard to evade as much. Hence why Pac is a terrible style for him.

Floyd continues to be massively overrated, and I for one hopes the fight comes off so Pac can win a very easy decision. Floyd likes to adapt to his opponents. Roach will change up the gameplan if so, and Mannys hyperactive style must be a ******* to try and time.

Floyds resume doesn't touch Pacs, and in terms of skillset, he has too many flaws in his delivery for me to consider someone capable of 'schooling' a fighter who has beaten better fighters than he has, and who has a style that is utterly all wrong for him.

Floyd has the skillset I'd pick to beat Pac, just not the intangibles to pull it off. He is just not a 'great' fighter IMO, and there are many fighters throughout history I'd pick to beat him.

Luckily, there's a guy around today that can beat him  :deal

As always very good analysis, Mandanda. :good I think Mosley is a tougher fight stylistically for Mayweather.

Vs. Pacquiao is the fight that Floyd's gotta prove why he's the smartest fighter in the game against this puzzle. I still believe Floyd has the talent to, stage left, stage right, throw counter hooks and lead rights to a victory.

Fighters have all made foolish mistakes walking Manny down. Floyd will sit on a stool and wait for you to punch first so he can observe your rythm. He computes things like a iphone lol He's the master of making adjustments against his opponents. Manny was given fits by JMM by being hit with straight right hands in the center of the ring. Floyd is the king of straight right hands. Marquez gives himself up to get counters off but Floyd's defense will make Manny look wild and back to the '6 straight shots Manny' I see the second half of this fight being a clinic. I think Pacquiao still has a ton of flaws, which his athleticism, movement and herky jerky style allow him to get away with, but i think Floyd has the tools to bring them out.

Another thing, we'll see a different Floyd in this fight. Well we saw him before but he's been missing and that's "lil" Floyd. Lil Floyd is like RJ and when he comes out guys normally get beat bad. Floyd is so far more superior of a boxer then anyone Manny has ever faced. People are gonna be so upset that they waited to see a 'boring' tactical perhaps lop sided fight.

Lil Floyd was last scene against Chico (RIP) so it's been a while. Now here's my worry: Floyd has been in the ring with pedestrians the last 5 years so it's going to be interesting to see how he reacts to Manny early on. I do worry about Pacquiao's activity and throwing 5 shots to your 1, even if he misses the 1st or 2nd the 3rd, 4th or 5th might land. Having said that walking Floyd down is a counter fest waiting to happen.

Let me stop before i shoot my load though, still too early, just hope it happens.

Again, Floyd 'is the master of' this and that, without fighting the greatest opposition? Also has a poor workrate and deficiencies of his own (coasts back to the ropes, not good against Pac, not as adept at defending combinations, takes a few rounds to warm up, I mean people go on like he is a perfect fighter, which he isn't) and yet everyone seems to hold him in such high regard, giving him a free pass and just assuming that his skillset will hold up against an ATG fighter.

This doesn't sit well with me.

Nd Corrales does not count as a 'great' fighter IMO.

That work both ways though, the great opposition that pacquaio has fought where all at lower weights when he was a different fighter with a lot of weaknesses that could be targeted. Outside maybe cotto (and that is arguable) who are the great fighters he has fought since the change we have seen in him after the move up in lightweight?

If your are discounting all of mayweathers skills because of his lack of great opposition maybe pacquaio will not look like the perfect fighting machine he has recently when he is also facing an all time great fighter who can bring things to the table too

clottey counterd pac a few times and the straight right he foud it hard t miss with that (this is why im pissed of clottey didnt seem to want it)

and by my count floyds better atributes are the sraight right and counter punching

add in his lead left hook and imence timing n acurracy i see only one winner and a wide decision aswell

Yeah I disagree with that too Kos.

For me its more of a case of what he does best will better what Pac can do best. Pacquiao's combinations and aggression far outweigh Floyds.... However Floyds defense, accuracy and his ability to hit that shot inch perfect at the perfect millisecond will enable him tp pick Pacquiao off with relative ease.

I think he'll find Pac hard to stave off to e honest.

Is a super intriguing match-up either way, let's hope it comes off. If not, I think Pac should fight Pavlik, and no I'm not kidding.

Voted Mayweather but wouldn't be surprised to see a tight decision either way or even a draw.
