I NEVER said Pac would win. I just think it's the kinda thing Arum could try and do in a while. I tend him to think a smaller, speedy fighter could cause Pavlik probls though, and I dint rate him particularly either. Although I wouldn't disagree with anyone who said Pavlik would land at some point and it's lights out Pac because even though je appears durable, bar him being a Joe Walcott-esque freak a man of Pavliks size/power should be able to
    do him some damage.

Anything can happen in boxig though, and Floyd is yet
to have beaten Shane. Although I think Floyd will win, let's
get excited for Pac vs Floyd if/when the contracts get signed.

I also find it odd that Pac is receiving criticism for getting hit. He's a primarily offensive fighter, and was even walking forward inviting shots at times. Clottey is not completely slow and inaccurate when he actually throws is he? Look at the problems Clottey gave to other top level 'genuine' Welters, and Manny dealt with him with ease. What's the problem, even Sweet Pea got hit.

    Floyd late rounds stoppage.

Pacquaio will MAKE Floyd fight, and i think Floyd will no deep down that this fight will be to cement his legacy.

Overall Floyd is the bigger, better fighter.

I can see Pacquaio getting busted up and perhaps stopped late.

Also Pacs head has got so big Floyd will find it hard to miss with a shot.

But i would love Manny to beat Floyd, but i dont see it happening.

Before the Clottey fight I was thinking definately.

However he was a bit more easy to hit then I thought. still favouring Pacman, only slightly. I think his better workrate should win more rounds.

I think PBF by TKO in the later rounds...:yep

I think he will allow Pac Man to load up and take him with sharp decisive counters, another check left hook perhaps...:think

I just hope that PBF gets past Moseley nice and easy so this can be made...:yep

I so want to go to this if it gets made...Tickets will be like rocking horse **** and will cost the earth...:nut

I'm starting to give Pac much more of a chance. Manny is hyper active whereas Floyd will sit back and pot shot. Pac's activity could see the judges giving him close rounds. Let's say in a 20 second frame Floyd throws 4 shots and lands 4 flush, Manny would throw about 20/30 and maybe only land 2 or 3 against Floyd's defence with the rest hitting arms, elbows etc. The judges would still favour Pac.

What I think will be so great about Pac/Floyd is that it will be two guys at the top of their games who both have an aura of invincibility about them. Since Marquez II, Pac has hit new heights and the guy is a seemingly unstoppable machine at the moment.

Still not sure about this, will be able to give a better judgement after Floyd-Shane. i.e I'm still sitting on the fence! :D

This is the same as I feel now, Before last night i would give the fight to Floyd, but after last night i dont know, i mean machine gun Manny threw over 1200 punches. But Floyd would still land the cleaner punches but as you said Manny would just throw and throw hitting arms, elbows, gloves, shoulder.

But i think also the judges would favor Manny for his workrate and output.

The only way i see Floyd winning now is a KO win.

pacquiaos combinations would be the biggest threat to floyd. he can go body to head to body to head which wil be hard for floyd. floyd will counter this by staying away from the ropes and simply putting his lead hand into pacquiaos face to stop him coming forward so much. He will also be turning away from Pacquiaos str8 left hand. I can see floyd winning but it would be close.

    Floyd Mayweather 3/2 f
    Manny Pacquiao 7/4

Can i just say..throwing over 1200 punches against such a big man is impressive but let's face it he knew if he threw punches in bunches Clottey always uses a passive defence he rarely ever tries to counter so he could just throw punches like at a bag and then move.

Fighters who use passive defence struggle to counter against faster fighters who don't stand in mid to long range. Pacquaio knows he throws that many punches against Floyd,Floyd will come over and through, under and round with counters because Floyd judges range so well.

Pacman decision. He'll be able to overwhelm Mayweather and win on workrate. Let's hope he doesn't **** up against Shane (big possibility imo).

there's no way floyd will just stand in front of manny like clottey did, manny will have to work twice as hard just getting into range of floyd, pacman looked quite tired from rounds 10-12, more than ive seen before so i think floyd will capitalise on this and stop him in the late rounds.

    Exactly.

I don't recall many rounds going against Floyd due to perceived aggression from the opponent, either - he seems to be an exception to the rule.

Granted, none of the opponents he has faced have been as consistently effective going forward as Pacquiao has been in his recent fights..... but Pacquiao hasn't faced anyone with a defence as good as Mayweather.

Let's not forget Marquez countered him to death with hooks and right hands, timing him superbly and keeping his feet well positioned. Don't think for one moment Floyd wouldn't have noticed that and won't school on it as he prepares - should he get past Mosley of course.

Pacquiao like most southpaws is a sucker to a lead right hand - which is Floyd's best punch. Manny will give Floyd an argument but will lose a clear decision in a great fight.
